I bet this is their trick to make sure Ragnarok has population.
it's kind of tough either way. if they include all the inactive accounts in the auto world transfers, this is bound to happen. if they don't include the inactive accounts, a lot of people could come back to the game for 2.0 or sometime before it... stranded, unable to ever play with their friends again. theoretically.
i think especially given the way people conduct themselves in the forums, they were gonna get major grief really no matter what they did. though, clearly, it still could've been handled a little bit better.
maybe a potential fix is to roll back the transfer apps, pretend today never happened, then reopen transfer apps in a few days with priority given to subscribing accounts. if someone isn't subbed and comes late to the game, they should log in to an option to transfer to that world or another (whenever that may be). if the world happens to be full, sucks. if not, yay. and while this method could cause some grief as well, at the very least square could continue to monitor populations in the coming months leading up to 2.0 and lift transfer restrictions for some servers here and there. that's not too different from how things worked in xi, was it?
or, i guess if they stick with this method and expect people to deal with it, maybe they can reassess world populations in the future sometime and allow discounted paid transfers again for a limited time. or something.
this is messy.
Just wait for the EU Players to come Home from work.there are still plenty of them that didnt Switch to ragnarok yet.
But still, Even with those that didnt Switch yet there will Be some that wont get the chance to switch.
I guess those that didnt Want to go with Option 4 pretty much destroyed the chance for Others to Switch easily.
Damn its annoying to post with my iPhone lol
What did we learn today kids?
"Ms. Elexia, we learned that we shouldn't moan about a wise choice in favor of a horrible choice because it would benefit people who don't play and clearly won't be playing for over a year if that and we wouldn't have screwed ourselves."
