Post mortem on relics from 4.0

i love when people call Eureka too grindy whens its the easiest relic grind content to date

i understand people dont like eureka because of you can "fall behind" and need to get it done asap
while older relics were alot more passive and can be done when ever you really want
but to say Eureka is too grindy compared to other relics is just false

pagos was rough
but Pyros,anemos and now Hydratos just easy

Excuse me?

I spent ONE month (1 week start zone, 2 weeks Pagos, 1 week Pyros) mostly casually doing clogs or 40-60 min stays in Eureka and I was just able to get into Hydatos day one ... and I'm already 58.

And I still can't be bothered to go and grind out the stuff that gives Poetics so I'm sitting on a hyperconductive Axe that maybe-some-day might get completed. Eureka was not a long grind for me and I'm not some kid with tons of free time, I have a full time job with an hour commute ..

People really do not understand eureka and let it color their thoughts to the extreme I see.

Are you really comparing max level content that is still currently updated and content released years ago and nerfed multiple times because it was not at level cap anymore ?

Do you also laugh at people taking several weeks to obtain their i390 weapon while you can obtain an i120 in a day ?

Also a lot of people who say the grind is too long probably never attempted relic in 2.0. The grind was much longer (atma and alexandrite). Eureka is less of a grind than previous weapons.

They even learned during Eureka and it got much better. Pagos was obviously bad, especially the map design and leveling process.

I think with Pyros and Hydatos they almost got it right.
Leveling is fast, Logos actions are fun but not necessary, at lvl cap you can spawn half the fates solo, map design with aetherytes got much better, bunnys got better.
Whats missing is the Group-lvl-sync , better droprates for some stuff and maybe some daily quests inside the Instance.

And they did nothing but COMPLAIN on this forum to give us something new and to stop running us through old content for tomes etc. We got new zones, new nm's a host of new things to do yet what never changes with relic is this forum will non stop pan it as not being worth the time and effort. Same tune different relic grind. Personally I adore what they did with relic putting it in an open world setting with 143 other people. Would love to see something new in 5.0 but would hope we don't get more of the same old farm these dungeons for tomes 2 zillion times and rng dungeon drops and so on.

Interestingly enough i have some friends who love the HW relics now that they doing them after having been nerfed into oblivion and have no clue how much work it was to do simply one relic let alone multiples.

So you spent one month to get an ugly glamour, when you can get an ARR/HW relic in a few weeks playing casually. I don't care how people spend their free time, but surely I won't waste mine pressing 2 skills every 30 minutes to get a reward from a Fate, I have better things to do than braindead and boring grinding for 0 reward.

If people hate themselves enough to do Eureka, good for them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm sorry for you for wasting your little free time on doing something horrible. Also I did up to Pyros so I know how awful Eureka is.

You can get Snakeboy's weapon which is 395 in under an hour, which is way, WAY faster than months of braindead grinding and bother with lootboxes.

And someone must have a real problem if they do Eureka for "BiS", when you can get Savage/Tomes stuff without spending tons of hours into boring content for no reward. The content is easy enough as it is to bother with lootboxes and boring grind.

The problem isn't SE trying new things, the problem is SE doing BAD things like Eureka is, they can try all they want at making new content, but not content filled with the worst kind of grind imaginable and filled with lootboxes everywhere. I do like the idea of open world stuff, and guess what? We have maps absolutely empty without a soul around them, what's the point of make new maps for each new expansion if you are going to have a big, empty but pretty map with nothing to do but hunts/gathering? That's an ABSOLUTE waste, instead of fix what we already have, they take the problem somewhere else, this isn't the right way to do things and SE must be aware of it.

This isn't hating content for the sake of it, this is let SE know this LAZY and totally HORRIBLE content isn't good for the game. This is about asking for better content and not letting SE get away with half-baked garbage content only the 10% of the community does. Ask for good content for everyone can only benefit everyone, and not be happy with the first garbage SE throws at the game.

generally what you said is pretty subjective i for one like the Drk relic a lot and definitely was worth the wait imho ive made 5 pyros weapons and have enough mats from pagos and pyros to make a 6th im very eager to make plenty of complete eureka weapons and do the big dungeon in hydratos ,
you also sound pretty bitter on that "hate themselves enough to do eureka" since its really not a stretch for people to like a content you don't ive also met a bunch who too like eureka (and yoshi already confirmed more in 5.0 anyway).
hydratos is very very easy leveling 50-60 is nothing especially with reflect farm the final step is the easiest its been since Anemos there is no light the boss and other fates spawn very frequently
so i could spend a day or two getting a weapon that is 10ilevels higher than Seiryu with less amount of effort primal farming becomes much more monotonous than eureka imo.
even raiders who did savage for BIS move onto the relic weapons since it generally ends up better just because they can.

And i don't know why you keep bringing up lootboxes
really has nothing to do with the weapon

also these Months of grinding have been spaced out over a long period of time so these weapons probably don't even take a month to make all up.

Bad is subjective and you're entitled to your opinion. I like the process. I've got 12 pyros weapons at the moment and will get them all finished in Hydratos. You can express your opinion all you like but it's simply just your view. As I stated in my earier post relic is historically panned on this forum regardless of the stage or expansion it's in.

And I might add I don't find the relic models ugly. I think a good number of them are pretty sweet and I can live with the 405 ilevel for the next few months until expansion.

I was excited for the Eureka weapon ayoff being a visually stunning and beautiful weapon with customized stats. I was disappointed heavily in the appearance, especially after seeing how some of the earlier steps looked better, and even earlier relics. The glow effect of some of these weapons look copied from the Awakened Atma step weapon in 3.2. Really disappointed.
