Lock the orchestration roll behind Rank, NOT rating.

Just update the achievement to require 1600 rating OR 3rd Kyu Rank.

IMO I think it would be a good idea for SE to put Mahjong related rewards behind the skill caps and move the general rewards that everyone would like to reach for even if bad (or later when the content is quiet) to more of a # of wins + AI type thing.
For example you might get at rating X:
- Fancy covers/plates to your pieces (like you might see in a digital card game, Gwent/Hearthstone)
- Animations, like when you win (you may see this in the Mahjong apps, big ol dragon across the screen and stuff lol)
- Considering higher ranks or tournaments a reward of a portable mahjong table to play with friends with earn able mammets that act as AI (like they're minions but they'll also be able to join your portable games once earned).
Meanwhile the orchestration and more player normal rewards would be under things like play against each npc in blah areas, win x times against player or ai, and such.
In that way it might have a better reward distribution, I think at least.
It's a Eastern game. It's not what western has made it.
It's not a hard game if you have someone who knows how to play it explain it to you.
I haven't played in about 6 or 7 years but looking at playing it depending on the AI.
Who's idea was it to but Mahjong in this game anyway? A game you can literally play on the internet with friends. Why put production time and resources in this? Lmfao
So are you saying it's perfectly ok for us to be able to lose progress towards achievements for this? These are the FIRST achievements in game that we can get further and further from day by day when we're trying our best. Is that REALLY fair?
I'm only missing 11 out of the 264 music rolls, not including seasonal (Have all 15) and 3 from the mog station I was gifted a while back.
It's a piss amount of MGP for long ass games really. I could get more by racing 3-4 times (1009 MGP for first place in max rating).
I don't know if they'd be able to tie one achievement to having optional ways to get to it. But if it were JUST ranking, then it wouldn't bother me, but the fact that you can lose progress is just utter bullshite.
Having tried this game several times now I do have to agree that locking an orchestrion roll behind a 1600+ rating was a VERY garbage thing to do on the devs part. Especially when the penalties for losing a game in fourth place are so steep when you're just starting out. I haven't tried against anything but npcs yet and even having read the rules again and again I'm still not really super at making these things work. I managed a Tsumo once I think and even then it only netted me a couple thousand points compared to the npc before who got like 12k.
Seriously if you want to put something behind an achievement then put it like others said, attached to your RANK not your rating. I mean hell do you lose the achievement if your rating drops back below 1600? I get wanting players to try getting into this, but for any of us who never played this game (other than possibly dumbed down versions) its kind of a slap to the face.
Can you buy the music off of the Market Board? Because I'll just do that.
