Not to replay though. I can't see new rank storyline content is unavailable to you because everything's 50'ed. We get WHM, BLM etc now but I really, really think we'll get new jobs at 2.0 as well, at least to sucker PS3 owners into picking it up. The answer is unlock a new job, level it, get to the rank requirement, and do it.
(though judging by the rank storyline missions in current game, you can do the 10, 15, 20 ones at any rank above that, so I can't really see, with respect, what you're getting at...)

did i mention that you get to fight the servants of an archon who alludes to a seventh umbral era?
-
i fought his servants at least three times, they were all level 19 and way too easy to kill.

I've posted on this very idea in numerous previous postings.
There's always that talk of walking free...and adventurers and people porting into zones...the idea of light warriors has also been mentioned...so a parallel world is very conceivable.
It could also be 2 dimensional worlds converging.

Oh God, I just tought something....
Maybe the world or Eorzea is destroyed, and we have the opportunity to change the looks of our character because...well we died in the catastrophe we are playing now as another adventure who could be similar to the last one or no. o_O
Brace yourself!

The concept I was thinking of is World of Balance vs. World of Ruin.
Take FFVI, for example:

The real problem they have is maybe that most players are 50 50 50..... Who newcomer would like that kind game where is so heavy elitist/millionar population after 2.0. Either they hide the long sword riders from baby players or keep different worlds or even servers (where everybody must start from beginning). Otherwise teasing will be common.
