Ah fair enough, in practical terms, I try to use it in a similar manner to Lucid/Assize tho, especially in dungeons.
Re: above, I'm pretty sure the tooltip is technically wrong? Pretty sure you can cast stuff with insufficient MP to do so when Thin Air is up?
I was just teasing, it'd be practically the same ability if it read that way; semantics aside.
Oh oops yeah, shows how much attention I pay to actual tool tips after the first week =(
I tend to save it for when I absolutely know I'm going to spam high-cost abilities (eg. Holy or Raises). Even when going full DPS-ham as main healer, Assize & Lucid should see you through with timed use, yet (especially in raids) you just never know when something terrible happens that won't be remedied by a sneaky QC-Raise by itself, and any time I have gone absolutely 100% out-of-MP is because of those situations alone (especially if co-healer is out of action).
I definitely learned something new today -- I did not know I could extend Medicated buffs with CO, is it safe to assume I can do the same with TD?
No. It only works on buffs applied by you. If your party member used a pot that buff was applied by them.
Yes, AST's inferior MP recovery is its only real weakness. And it's something that is very intended by the dev team.
As an addendum, saying Ewer was made for RR and Minor Arcana in particular is kind of hilarious, seeing how AST is already the worst at personal MP economy. You're much better off using that Ewer on yourself if you're in need of MP than transforming it into a Minor Arcana. Particularly in dungeons, where the Expanded RR has much less value due to the reduced party size, Ewer is much better used as an MP IV for yourself for spamming Gravity in trash pulls.
You can't be so stiff playing AST if you really wanna make the most out of its versatile toolkit...
