There are restrictions on who can purchase plots. 1 house per character, 1 house per FC, must have cleared MSQ, must have access to the housing area. Or are you suggesting adding more restrictions? Like, must not be a member of an FC. Must not have anyone on your friend list. Must be a mentor. Must have BiS crafting gear. Must have maxed level retainers. Must have maxed level squadrons. Adding MORE restrictions wouldn't solve the issue and don't delude yourself or anyone else with that kind of thinking. Housing is the ONLY resource in this game that has such an absurd limit and the fact that you CAN sell your plot of land (or get paid to abandon it) just makes that resource and competition for that resource extreme. We can speculate all we want to about what those FC members are going to use those plots for; but we don't know and won't know. As of now, they got their housing just as everyone else could have. Is it unfair? No because they had the same issues everyone else had when logging in. Is it an outrageous d*ck move? No, again everyone had the same opportunity to get in and buy a plot. If you didn't make it, you didn't make it. Seems to me that this thread boils down to "I didn't get a plot, it's not fair that THEY did!" What's unfair is that SE has a limit to housing plots in the first place. Don't hate on people just because they got a plot and you didn't.

Unless you know something that wasn't mentioned, these people bought one house per person, plus the FC house. Being that you can't own multiple houses per character and nothing was mentioned about them buying up houses with alts, how are they any less "in need" than someone else who also didn't have a house?

If a Free Company moves their HQ to Shirogane, would it cut off players who cannot access Kugane because they haven't reached that part of the MSQ?
I mean, it doesn't take that long to get to lvl 10 to access the various housing in Gridania, Limsa Lominsa & Thanalan, but level 60 is quite a lot of time, especially if you want to enjoy the writing and experience of the main quest.

Nope! As long as the FC house has an aetheryte in the yard, any FC member can teleport to that house, even if they are level 1 and don't own Stormblood. They won't be able to go outside of that ward into Kugane/the rest of the expansion until meeting the regular requirements.

The housing for FC and personal should not be the same plot, plain and simple. When housing was first introduced it was for FC's only. It wasn't until much later when they added personal housing. As for specific restrictions, I was referring to selling plots specifically for FCs. Congrats for blowing that out of proportion.

Again, no, not what I said. What I meant was FC should've been giving priority for housing. Then once the market settled down, open up personal housing.

If these people have access to an FC home they don't need access to a second one. if space was unlimited it wouldnt be that much of a problem but when it stops entire FC's from getting to other content then thats a big problem.

What's the difference between players who happen to be in the same FC owning individual houses in a ward vs random people owning individual houses in a ward? Are you trying to tell me that simply being associated with an FC should preclude you from owning personal housing? Now I've heard it all...

There is a flaw in every idea, that’s what this is here for, to bring to light all the flaws and come to unanimous conclusions which seem to be that FC houses should be separate to personal, aside from my original OPINION, which was that non-FC players be given apartment options only, clearly not the best idea here but again, the posts correcting that statement give light to other options. No ones saying people shouldn’t have personal spaces, just a different way of doing them and more quantity of said spaces.

Unless you are 100% opposed to personal housing whats to be upset about? How is this different from if they had all bought houses in seperate wards? Are you mad they get to be neighbors with their friends?

There is a lot of things to be salty about, but players who got houses having them be next to their friends is a good thing not a bad one. Being friends with your neighbors is probably the only real plus in this entire awful housing system, god forbid anyone exploit its one strength.

Now if they are selling them off or hoarding them without actually using them that's lame as hecke, but otherwise this is just a group of well organized buddies having fun. Back when demolition first was implemented me and some friends back on Zalera did the same thing on a smaller scale, bought up an entire 8 plot strip around the edge of the goblet. No one was upset then because availability wasn't a problem and WHERE these people got their houses isn't an availability issue- that issue rests entirely with square.
