I am not a hardcore player. I don't do savage or EX trials, but something about that fight makes me want to play it on EX mode.

I agree. The wider camera angle in particular. As an older person I would like to see more contrast between the light blues that are frequently used and the blue or grey floors. I had a past thread about this as we get older out sensitivity to color is reduced which can make it hard to distinguish between colors or similar hues.
Now that it's not gating an expansion like Steps of Faith, I'm sure the trial should be fine and won't need to be neutered like the last one.
I had to do it three times, with three different parties. I even had to switch to SCH from my SMN main because I couldn't get decent healers.
The first two times, half of the team was in white gear, meaning that they didn't even do their Lv.70 job quest (or they didn't open their box, but that's even more dumb). Then, with these two first parties, we constantly had multiple people dying from the very fist mechanic, and even more dying during the add phase... even after multiple wipes and clear party chat explanations.
It's not only a case of the trial being hard. It has a lot to do with a lot of players being terrible. And until then, they could get away with it.
So, there's now the choice of dumbing down the content so these terrible players can continue their journey (while completly removing all the fun the more experienced people might also want out from the MSQ instead of it being a constant faceroll), or letting the Royal Menagerie like it currently is to act as a wake up call.
The fight doesn't need to be nerfed because like Thordan and Nidhogg, everyone's going to overgear the hell out of the fight later in the patch cycle anyway.
If Badam couldn't teach people how to move around then nerfing the fight won't help either. I hope they keep it how it is. IT felt like a real boss and not a pushover like Thordan. Please keep it how it is and get friends to help you clear it.
The best gear doesn't help you when 1/3 of the raid fall to their death at the first special attack (tidal wave), and every upcoming knockback, edgeslip and platform destruction that results in more casualties.
That's why I hate this trial - The longer the second phase lasts, the smaller the chance is to beat it. And when you wipe, it's all back to start.
