Another SCH complain

It wont even be all that god mode, from the game footage its about a 5k per tick heal that you can use 3 ticks of per minute. Sure yes its nice I'm not saying its utterly useless or anything but when it ceases embrace disallows the cast of any other abilities by the fairy and in a typical minute is equivalent to two physick casts its kinda underwhelming. But hey its better than dissipation so I guess we should all be jumping for joy ;p
Judging by tooltips as well its an ability, not a spell, so rouse likely wont affect it either further closing the gap between it and roused embrace spam.

As a main scholar I am indeed a little sad about our aoe dps nerf and the loss of virus but honestly, there's nothing to complain about it.
We still are really powerful and the new skill are really great.

I think what gets under my skin the most is how homogenized we've become. I remember starting out in ARR with WHM and SCH having distinct natures and styles; hell, SCH was DPS for 30 levels at the start. They were both healers but they had largely separate toolkits. Even in HW this remained true despite a design focus to bring them closer together, and while we got the big AoE heals we were lacking they were gated behind timers and stack mechanics that kept the spirit of the class design. Reliable opportunity heals that can't be spammed. SB's new abilities continue that trend but add in a party synergy buff.

But whatever unique spirit was inherit in the DPS mechanics is gone. Originally ARC was a DoT class with DoTs dealing a considerable portion of their damage with direct damage as filler. Coming off that root, SCHs were the same, and this gave us a Warlock vs Mage style differentiation in playstyle where SCHs kept their many DoT focus and mages had their presence of mind buffable stone attacks, SCH sustained damage vs WHM's burst, but that's gone now. DPS as any of the three healers is now almost completely the same with no individuality to speak of outside of AoE, where Bane's spreading dots occupies a neat discrepancy against Holy/Gravity spam with the heavy cost of being safer in that it doesn't tie you up as a healer, but effectively just nowhere near as good.

Powerful in comparation of WHM, weak in comparation of AST.... My point is, what do we bring to the table than an AST cant do better?

AoE immune fairy heal-bot, battle litany single-target every 90 seconds, and a very safe anti-tank-buster heal for when they're followed by immediate additional damage.

Sacred Soil is also still better than their channeled variant, and indom is still instant and class-defining.

I feel this needed to get said again. Sustain is a huge quality of life spell in raids and dungeons, the fairy doesn't dodge attacks so it gets hit a lot if I lose sustain and need to switch targets for my pet or worse need to resummon it (thats 10 sec or swiftcast if its off cooldown, plus the cost of a lot mana) it can easily get party members killed. So please Square Enix please don't get rid of sustain!

Someone mentioned that the Devs though SCH was OP, thats why they were making changes. But I thought the goal was to bring the other healers up not knock us down. I mean tbats why we had high MP costs, lower overall MP our Mind was usually a few points lower, and we had gated skills, and some skills that buffs didnt effect. If those wete enough to hinder us enough to make us not as OP as the Devs thought, then what thr hell? I loved my DoT and Shield playstyle, and now thats basically gone. I didn't mind the whole SCH/SMN branch, but if it means I get my playstyle back, split them up already. ������

And I think this reflects the re-calculation of damage across the board, healers were becoming too DPS orinetated, bringing them back in line with healer ideology is NOT a negative thing. If you think it is, you need to main a DPS class

"Some things you don't need to worry about. The new AST AoE heal Earthly Star is a neat move, and it plays well off people who know a fight. " That absolutely plays into the SCH toolkit.

It seems to me the reason for the ShadowFlare change is to get people to actually use Sacred Soil. Because due to the damage and the slow, it's superior in dungeons to SS in almost every way.

Definitly not weak compare to ast.
If ast gains that 300% shield and the 170% aoe shield, it's because they can only rely on those two skills to shield efficiently.
We have fairy, aetherflow management and free heals, still the deployed critical adlo, now a critical rate buff on the target and a singl target bomb heal.

So there's nothing to worry about.
