You know, people think the worse of Rescue, but are we all forgetting about Shadewalker and Smokescreen? You can troll/mess around with hate with those abilities yet how often do you hear that occurring?

I'm reading these threads on this Rescue ability and I kind of just put on that random expression whenever I hear Trump tweets his bullshit, while I wonder why is this even needed in this game.
I really wish these developers would stop playing WoW, Tera, LoR, such and such and maybe play a bit more of FFXI, I'll get into this in a bit.
So if I'm going to get this straight...are WHM now going to be removed from bosses' range AoE mechanics so they can just stand still during an entire fight and "Rescue" players out of AoE's. I mean this is the only way this is going to have some functionality. "But wait..I see that you're a caster and I need you to be closer to me so I can cast a heal spell before you die or something like that. I'll just pull you closer while you're in mid cast of a long casting spell, screw up your damage, but hey I just saved you." All arenas, exception being 24 men'ers, are so small that something like this is not even necessary. I guess they have ran out of idea for useful WHM abilities, so hey let's put this random ability from WoW (case you're wondering, I never played the game. Bless my heart).
Now, if they would of gone the route of FFXI BLM spell "Tractor", which pulls a player's corpse to the location of the caster. So that the healer can than raise the player in an area of relative safety. Now I see this as a useful ability in large arenas so that the WHM can just pull the out of range dead player in range of the Raise spell and raise.
This skill along with others, we've been asking for some sort of ways to cooperate with each other in battle. This is one of them. Now that we have something people don't want it. So we have one skill that connects two different players, so you will have the "it's your job!" arguments. These are people who aren't very good working as a team. I plan on using it to get the guy who is lagging out of a LoS so hopefully he can come back and keep going. Or a player that is standing there out on the edge doing nothing in 24 man raids because they're lazy and bring them into the icon to stack. Or help a new player who might miss a mechanic, they can die and we can possibly wipe or they can be saved and we can keep going. Either way they will hopefully learn, just one way doesn't involve us resetting.
Or this...yes this ends this topic. I forgot all about this. Good job end thread. Now come! You're needed elsewhere! The healers are making threads every 5 minutes about DPSing and it's worse than project meteor! They all want to know the same thing and don't know how to hit the edit button. They fear for their esuna! They can't grasp that Cleric Stance is no longer a stance and just a OCD. To some of them it's a total mind f*#k! Go..Warrior of Light. As for me, I'm going to go get coffee and a breakfast burrito. We all have our roles..this is mine.
Good reminder though.
People's paranoia over potentially possibly maybe getting trolled once is hurting them more than this spell ever will.
The trolling was with the swapblaster, not the spell Leap of Faith. The note was there to let PvP players know that it cancelled Leap of Faith too. The spell is used to get a flag carrier across a mid-field quickly. So, if a flag carrier has this item accidentally equipped they couldn't be moved and had to run instead.
Uhm... the swapblaster was added to the list of effects four months after it was introduced:

As such, it was introduced without the swapblaster in mind. And alas, it was introduced far too late for me >.>
It probably won't be heavily abused, but this is the same player base that decided it was funny to spam ready check in combat over and over and SE had to step in and turn it off in combat.
Personally, I don't think that trolling with this ability is going to be the epidemic that many seem to expect. However, that said...
While I never had any intention of trolling with this ability, gaining the power to... "assist" that bloody BLM who insists on standing miles away from my aoe cures is going to be mighty tempting... A message to ranged DPS can casters everywhere, stand a few yalms away from the boss and from each other player, and you're FINE. You don't need to stand in another county to avoid aoe damage, and doing so pretty much doubles the healer's workload and/or greatly increases your own chance of death by neglected heals.
