Speaking of umbral hearts it appears we lost the f3 proc transpose trick.

That monster flare combo might neutralize f2 almost entirely unless we can eat 1 UH for fire 2.



So something like B3 B4 F3 F2 (reduction) flare (eats remaining UH ) flare convert flare swift ether flare.

Could transpose Foul in UI to help with UI downtime

Something like transpose-Foul-thunder-b4 (at this point youll be at max mp on server tick transpose or close to it)

Granted in a fast raid environment youd want to forgoe the other flare and b3 instead i believe.

Sounds like a bad idea considering how high potency foul is, should be cast in astral fire. Foul is 2.5 times as high potency as Flare, granted it has worse dropoff than flare but even so. The dropoff above 5 targets is still more damage than flare would do to its first target.

Edit: Nevermind what i just said, just remembered that Foul will NOT benefit from astral fire, so yes it should indeed be cast in Umbral Ice. That makes what you said probably the best scenario yes.

True but it could also be used in down time, 30s wont always land in AF. Its higher potency and 0 dependency on AF is why i believe in an aoe scenario after blowing 3 to 4 flares its better to trans and sandbag with Fouls low mp cost then continue with ice phase.

Im unsure of casting it IN af on aoe rotations because of the ending flare cost, dip too low and we'll be sitting on a lot of mp left

In single target yeah i agree mash it during fire 4.

Yeah, id fix my posts but i cant edit. Or at least i dont know where it is on this forum.

I don't see any reason why Umbral Heart woudn't work with Fire 2. I am a bit sad about thunder 4 (and presumably thunder 2) only having a 3% chance to proc thundercloud, but my guess is the aoe rotation for blm will now be B3 > B4 > Thunder2/4 > F3 > F2 > F2 > Flare with all procs for foul and thundercloud used as they show up.

I was thinking for aoe we could go

B3-sharp-t3-b4-t3p-f3 to start with a spike in thunders damage and force proc for aoe then lead in from a hard casted f3 with f2 (1 UH used)- flare (2 UH used) flare (vert flare pot flare) trans-Foul-etc.

It does work with Fire 2 and in fact it would be silly to use all 3 stacks on Flare in any scenario even multi flare except if you just won't have time to finish the casts before you have to swap back to UI. Something like F3->F2->F2->Triple Cast->Flare->Flare->Convert->Flare->Swift->Ether->Flare->Transpose->Foul in best case scenario, just don't know if you would actually have time to finish all that or even if you would have enough mana for the 2nd Flare time will tell.

I think the reason for T2/4 to have so low proc rate is since they are aoe, so each 3% chance per mob hit which does even it out a bit.

I thought the UH for a decreased flare required 2 UH?

If thats the case you may as well forgo using only 2 fire 2s and use all three into old flare vert flare.

If its the other way then f3 f2 flare flare vert flare beats f2 spam especially since fire 2 had a potency nerf.

Dunno if you need the whole 3 UH to affect flare also i'm not sure that the drop in power of F2 will make it worth
