If this wasn't possible then why did they show the concept art for it and then put an actual vote to the player base for what type of race should come next. Yes it probably isn't going to look exactly like that, but it doesn't mean they can't produce some sort of race more closer to beast than human. At present SE idea of a new race is stick on some features that could easily be added to any race during character customisation.

If headpiece is the main problem then make the headpiece permanently invisible for that race by disabling the on/off toggle.

What if they made Vivi savages for war? :P

If they can make the city look cool like some of their other cities (Midgard, Zanarkand, Altissia, etc, etc), I'd love to see the Empire in a more friendly term :D. Although at least from hearing their plan with the empire, that would be like expansion 7.0 XD

I always figured that instead of altering the gear look to fit a beast race that they could just make it so that it wasn't visable.

Such as a wolf race not showing the gloves, boots, or head

Granted that would depend on if they kept the rest of the body humanoid shaped.

But personally I could deal with the gloves feet and helmet being unviable if I like the beast race they chose to do

Issue isn't only the head, people have been suggesting things like claws, wings, and even full animal legs (no feet, but paws). That is all of a sudden a lot more to work on.

And that is also a great idea. What's wrong with another human-ish race? Vampires, Imperials... In worse case, Goblins.

Sure, why not add bipedal wolves?

Why not just add the option of sharp teeth/third eye in Hyur customization and call it a day?

While you're add it, also throw in some bunny ears for the Viera fans. Because if your race isn't going to be more than a human with a slight addition, you might as well just make it a slight addition. Half our races can easily be made from a Breton with a modded character editor in skyrim >_>
