I really dislike that excuse to be honest. That's how Tera got away with the Elin race *shivers*. Thankfully they made it so Lalafells aren't an oversexualized child-like race at all in this game. They just look like cute potatoes.

There are always going to be people who cause problems with anything even vaguely juvenile, but in the end Lalafell are Gnomes, and that's just fine.

As far as new races go, I wouldn't mind Viera. Then again I've accepted the likelihood we'll ever get a race that is anything other than, "A human with <animal parts> slapped on," as incredibly unlikely.

But Hobbit, you are already playing as this games version of a Hobbit.
If you changed you wouldn't be a Hobbit. >w>

I honestly couldn't come up with something else from the series off the top of my head. That and the Return to Ivalice stuff is convenient.
