Do the Legacy Servers Have an Elitism Problem?

People should keep their political agendas out of online communities if they don't want to deal with trolls and people of differing opinions. It would happen on any server, not just Balmung. Calling this elitism makes no sense.

In fact I'd wager there's less legacy players than non, at this point.
I've never seen elitism over legacy status in any serious capacity at all in my entire time playing.

There was of course some jokes when ARR launched but really that's even died down many years ago.

Being vote kicked gives you no penalty. Vote abandon gives the entire party no penalty.
Kicking someone gives you a 4 hour cooldown before you can kick again.

So, it's considered griefing when you refuse to kick a player that wants to leave?

There is a part of me that smells bullshit, and another that kind of understands that this is a possible form of abuse. I mean, if you request a kick for any reason, I think you should be kicked.

For example, I was once running SV when my parents suddenly pulled in the driveway. They needed help unloading the car, so I told my group to go ahead and kick me as it may take a good 10 or more minutes to help them put stuff away and I didn't want to make them wait that long.

They agreed.

I understand this situation is different in that the tank didn't feel the team was geared enough and wanted out, while the rest disagreed. It's just on the GM to decide who was holding who hostage.

I meant from the start of the instance, 5 minutes until you can initate a vote kick, and 15 before you can initate a vote abandon.
