They're baking it a cast iron skillet. Stovetop brown it first, add in aromatics, then shove in over.

Still pretty new to the game, and not got to these quests yet. -Are they optional? or do you have to complete them as part of the Main Story?
Even if it sounds silly because it's just a video a game, I think id prefer to skip them if I can. =p

Where do you think your personal chocobo came from? The Grand Companies buy their chocobos from Ishgard, who in turn get them from these hunters in Tailfeather. Stop being a hypocrite and free your chocobo back into the wild.

Originally sure. They're now being bred outside of Ishgard (we get achievements for it after all in the GS). We can pretend that our chocobos are free range GMO-Free cruelty-free bred-in-captivity and all that.

The people complaining about them are blowing things way out of proportion. You put a chocobo down because it's attacking other hunters openly. The hunters who seriously harm other chocobos to catch them are exiled from the camp for their cruelty (or you outright kill them). A large part of the questline is about understanding the sanctity of life in the Forest and how the hunters try their best to fit in and make both a living, as well as a minimal impact of the natural order of the Forest.

They go amazing with my Lalafell steak, and Moogle pie combo.

Gosh this is all about Shark Fin Soup again...

I have a feeling people freaking out over the chocobo hunting never gave two craps about all the "animal culling" we've done for our entire adventuring career.

Doubly feel the same people don't need to watch for deer running into roads on their daily commutes because of overpopulation issues.
