According to the site you was just supposed to wait for it to start download and then switch to your home connection.
Sorry it hadn't worked if I come across anything else I will let you know. Good luck bud.

Problem was that it was 1.049 gigs into the update when the error happens, I have 1 gig data a month. Just my luck.
So any solid fixes? Because I don't want to have to reformat my PS4 hard drive to even see if it remotely works.
I was finally able to get through all the patches. I don't think anything in particular fixed it. I just had to keep trying. Eventually...after about 5 days, I got the client patched. It was pretty ridiculous.
I had to assign my ps4 a static IP, go to my router and put the ps4 address I just assumed in the DMZ. Making it public. But still needed to adjust the firewall ports to allow the following:
UDP
55296-55551
TCP
80,8080,443,55296-55551
It is now at 1335MB and steadily climbing
Well in a way its nice to see im not alone in this i've been having this issue since palace of the dead came out
So it took several restarts, but I finally got it.
ive been playing since 1.0. ive played on pc, ps3 and ps4. ive used the same isp, routers etc the entire time. i purchased a brand new ps4 for my wife, downloaded 12gb of arr/hw game file with no issues, but now the 15gb of patch files are stuck at 5931.98mb remaining and errors out at 572mb downloaded every time. id simply restart over and over until i get it , but its not even saving the 572mb. it resets to 5931.98mb needed everytime i reboot, power cycle etc... this is pissing me off
Same issue for me. Same files. I ran out of room on PS4 HD and replaced it with a bigger one, necessitating re-installation of FFXIV. Client downloaded and installed fine, but patch stops with same msg as others here. Unless I'm mis-read some are having this issue on PC as well? Makes me think the patch files apparently don't like something about certain networks?
Djphatty, did yours finish on the first attempt after doing those network settings or still take several re-starts after that?
