Deep dungeon - hmmm

Like Diadem, the various objectif is the thing they should do to spice up and change every run.... Killing trash isn't fun in the long run...

I'm sure that diadem could be good without changing much of it, just focus the concept around the objectives and you have less braindead trash killing until Rank V or S pops. Like, give 8 different objectif, every 5 objectif, you earn some eso/lore, you progress into the spawn of rank V and S (and only this way) and reset all 8 objectif (so you can still ignore some that you can't or don't want to do, gathering objectif) Add some rare objectif to spawn a rank V and S when you have done enough (like treasure map ?), rince and repeat.
This way, you have to actually explore the island to find the specific mobs to kill, cristals to find etc, and burning dinosaure island endlessly becomes useless.

for have try until floor 23 (we was wiped as drg/nin team) it was a blast, monster change every 3-4 floor and have interesting gimmick, some can be simply deadly if badly handled.
i admit i had wish more different objective, but so far as first random dungeon, i'm in love!

Erm what? when did i ask for this to be ffxi? the only person that trolling here is you, making up something thats not been said. People who ask for ths to be like FFXI mean the open worldness of the game etc. when you get a throw back like this, its content that will die fast and hard, It was said it isn't a rant but i guess you didnt get that far and just take what you want from the observation, and rewrite it into your own story, well then well done you, you succeeded at leveling up your +10 Douche

Compared to Diadem, Palace of the Dead is way better. It's a neat dungeon crawler that does require you to stop and think about monsters on the later levels (41-49. Monsters can flood a single room and even if you're level 60, they will potentially kill you. Especially if there's a Landmine and especially the ones that have non-telegraphed attacks). I am disappointed with four of the boss fights, though. Especially the penultimate fight, as I kinda expected more from it.

I'm curious to see what floor 51-200 in 3.45 offer in terms of difficulty.

I haven't tried it yet. Gonna get a group together to run it with.

That being said, this thread is why I hate reading the OF sometimes. But also an example that not everything is everyone's cup of tea. Declaring it "Diadem 2.0" or "Dead Palace of the Dead" or whatever is a bit premature (possibly immature as well). Especially since, for some that aren't progressing animas any time soon or can't down SephEX or NiddEX, this maybe their first real chance to get away from their esoteric weapons. Declaring other players as being "ungrateful" or otherwise whiteknighting for whiteknighting's sake is also a bit premature (and immature).

So yeah, some people like this kind of thing, some don't. /shrug

Took us around 4 hours to clear it with one wipe at 43th floor.
I enjoyed it and will definitely run again but there is no way I am going trough Duty Finder.

Played to floor 20. Only bit I like is the fact that the items are cool and the only way we'll ever have shapeshifting and polymorphing.

I mean why doesn't BLM have limited access to Toad already.

Why are you attacking me? I didn't say you specifically ask for it. I said this forums in general are asking for this, they get it ,adn still are not happy. So, yes, I think they will complain all the time, no matter what they will get. That "you asked" goes for those who ask all the time for the damn FFXI stuff and their RNG dungeons. Sorry if that confuse you, but it is normal say this type of expresions in Spanish.

The thing is, this is not what they asked for. This content is, when you get down to it, just killing mobs over and over, like every other dungeon / raid in the game. Nyzul Isle was content that had varying objectives where the focus was getting to the next floor which did not always entail combat as the primary focus. People were asking for something like that to break up the monotony of XIV's singular objective of "combat, combat, combat" in content. They gave us Nyzul Isle in "combat, combat, combat" fashion without the objectives that made it interesting. So if you think this is exactly what people were asking for, you'd be wrong on that.

I said this in another thread, but this goes back to more hardcore players having an ongoing identity crisis with FFXIV.

Palace of the Dead was clearly not meant to be endgame content. Yeah, we can work toward a high iLevel weapon, but if this were endgame then we wouldn't be able to enter with level 17 jobs. This was meant to be somewhat casual content that can bring people together.

The hardcores need to realize this game was not built for them. Yes, it has hardcore elements, but it isn't a hardcore game. It never will be.
