I mean, Thordan and Sephirot EX are pretty much the very basic idea "midcore" difficulty, based on the overall difficulty scale of the game.
This sounds more like its attempting to be XI's version of "midcore" which is not at all the same thing. I mean, the entire thing reads like a version of Dynamis (or a "perfected" version of the Diadem with extremely punishing gates placed on it.)
The whole "The whole party wipes once and you're ejected" plus an entrance fee is bananas, and the content would be dead within a week. Even Savage isn't punishing in that regard. It completely misses the point of "midcore" - which is to bridge the gap between Normal Mode Alexander and Savage Mode while also being more fleshed out and exciting than facerolling an EX Primal over and over again.
Diadem, if it had been done *properly* and not been a ridiculous instanced hunt arena, could have easily worked in favor of the midcore crowd. Even some ideas within this could work really well for that - but the punishments that are listed are too harsh or strict and the rewards too little for midcore players to bother with it.
