I'll agree to disagree that having scales is the whole point of the Au Ra or that having tails is the whole point of the Miqo'te - yes, it's part of being a Miqo'te but I think if it's going to be a part of them, then gear for Miqo'te should be designed with the tail in mind. The clipping with Miqo'te tails currently is just completely ignoring the fact they exist in several sets of gear. There is more than just a handful that clip IMO, and I'll say it again, I'm all for SE fixing the clipping instead of the tail hiding option if they'd rather do that instead. Again, I just want some way to not have this clipping. And as Four said, it's not chopped off - not unless you leave it permanently disabled and roleplay that. =p

That gear was ugly as sin, but...armored tail!

the /Hide tail option is in the game, though it's quite hidden, when you make a new character, you have to go up near the top where it says "Race" and select "Hyur" that's the secret tail hiding option, not many people know this, so spread the word!

tail clipping is why i only use a select few of outfits. ones that don't actually clip. like the cashmere healing coat (although it still clips for au ra)

If they gave Gear tail armor... It could hide the tail and use the gears tails as replacement solving 2 issues.

Why would you want to hide it in the first place? It's the most defining feature of a miquote.

Obviously, he wants to hide the tail not because he fundimentally doesn't like it, but because it clips and that annoys him. And honestly, he's right to be annoyed that the modeling is of poor quality. However, assuming that they don't want to fix it (their mentality since 2.0 seems to be quantity > quality when it comes to gear), he's asking for an option to avoid it altogether. It seems perfectly reasonable. Of course, I think he's requesting a TOGGLE, like similar with headgear, not like a "no tail" option in creation where you have to have a fantasia to fix it. It would be more like tucking your tail into your garments, less cutting it off.

My only issue is the strange way the tail comes out of some HW gear. For the ARR gear, where the tail came out on my char there would be a little bow above the tail, but I've noticed in at least some HW gear the bow isn't there. It was a nice little touch and I don;t know why they stopped.

I'm very sad that I was unable to play a FFXIV with armored miqo tails.
