Get rid of vote abandon

Sometime Duty Finder shucks, like player never greet each other.

Then at last boss, because we failed so many times, they vote dismiss without even vote or warn someone.

This is pretty annoying.

Actually nvm about the penalty. give the penalty to the one being excuse by limiting their excuses by 3 a day. that way they can't troll people as much.

I fully agree that we need the vote abandon feature. Like the votekick it was added out of necessity due to trolls, leechers and otherwise abusive players needing to be dealt with somehow. In THIS case, however, there was genuinely no reason for the vote abandon to be used.

Please get your facts straight. They "insulted" me by calling ME selfish. I said that I am nowhere more selfish in my thoughts than them wanting the system reworked. Don't try and brand me as the villain by manipulating my words and their context. Lol.

Back on topic though, it is incredibly selfish to lock players in a run or raid because the OP doesn't want people leaving after wipes. They shouldn't have to take a penalty because of some troll or baddie. I'm not talking about the OP's situation anymore, I am talking about the ramifications of Vote Abandon being removed as they want.

@TC: Yeah, no. Leave Vote Abandon in. I'd rather deal with its evils than not have it and be stuck with how things were back in 2.0. Better idea than asking for a removal, ask for a rework like the guy below did, his idea is good and we don't have to remove a needed feature.

I didn't brand anyone the villain. You're both insulting each other over a difference of perspective. In reality, in any situation where a vote abandon isn't unanimous someone's time is being wasted so each side of that vote will call the other selfish. It's inevitable.

The OP gave context to their argument. If you are ignoring that context to mount a rebuttal then you're not arguing the same point. Whilst the OP's suggestion is ill thought out they are justified in being frustrated by the improper use of the function. We've already seen a number of suggestions for improvements of the system in this thread so telling the OP to just suck it up (as your initial response does) is clearly unnecessary.

Rather than arguing why the system shouldn't be removed we would be better served by discussing how it could be improved.

the thing though nobody locks anyone behind anything, you want to leave you always have the option to leave, why would you vote abandon because YOU want to leave ?...press leave button and go..of course you have the penalty, but that is a choice you made in the first place to leave penalizing the group by your decision is fair you take some of the blame so yes in a way is selfish to want others to vote abandon because you want to go.

I agree with op though, remove the vote abandon same as kick option and each is grown up enough to leave....in this context remove equally the penalty altogether for the first three times you leave an instance and THEN apply an hour or two of being forbidden to enter any kind of trials and dungeons. seems pretty normal to me.

Please add a feature so that we know if we're being vote dismissed.

Vote abandon should be disabled when the party isn't full, because people can leave without penalty.

Additionally, vote abandon shouldn't kick out everyone. It should simply remove the penalty for leaving and ask everyone if they would like to leave. Those who choose 'no' would stay in the instance. It should require at least 50% of votes to remove the leaving penalty.

I'm not sure. Is there a penalty for leaving a group when someone has already left? I've sat in a dungeon for 20 mins waiting for a replacement healers before now and in the end the group just decided to Vote Abandon rather than just have people leave piecemeal and some poor sod dps who had been in the queue for 14 mins find themselves in a group that was going no where. Frankly there aren't enough people who tick the 'join group in progress' box.

Removing Group Abandon at the moment will probably mean sitting around for a lot waiting for your group to refill with people continually bailing cause half an hour penalty before joining again is better than sitting around for half an hour for new players.
