It doesn't help to see that some random person on your job, in unknown gear, on a random encounter can hit XXXX DPS.
1) Gear does a lot.
2) Every encounter is different.
3) Other circumstances are different (what healer you have, what buffs/debuffs are used, who your tank is, how good your tank is, etc.)
4) It's not immediate feedback! When I go into a dungeon as DPS and see that the other DPS is doing more damage than I am, I will try harder! I want to be the higher one, I want to be main contribution to our damage, I want to make the enemies cry in terror! Just seeing that someone is able to push 1k DPS on a striking dummy, while I am at 850 DPS, doesn't help at all.
I'm fairly certain almost none would go to that extreme, and those few are toxic anyways, with or without a parser, and need to be dealt with in other ways, not prevent us from having nice things.Quote:
And maybe very few would go to that extreme, but I run into PLENTY of toxic attitude players, but maybe that's just my luck.
And yeah, it has to be your luck, in the last 3 months I have met one actual toxic player, ONE. Sure I met a few quitters, but nobody who would actually insult anyone for any reason. And I ran with DPS that were pushing less damage than the healer!
