Which healer would you recommend?

Believe what you want.the population numbers will not lie. Most people play what is the most powerful and idiots putting words into my mouth doesn't bother me. The moment astrologian had heals on par with white mages the shift would inevitably begin.

Just because I like all three jobs being balanced it seems to bother some people. I never said the job didn't need Buffs. Just not potency buffs.

Op, based on all thing you said you like, I recommend AST, ast can be a mitigation Healer or a regeneration, but get in mind the Stance will be choose by the other healer in the party.
About the cards the rng is trick till get the gist of how to get the better of the cards, but RNG-sama can be cruel sometimes, I almost quited playing when in only caster party gto 3 spire in a row.

Ok, so I'm wondering, I'm told to be dpsing, but I don't see how I can dps and keep people alive when the tank's hp is dropping like a rock in dungeons and even the dps are taking lots of damage. I've tried Whm a bit in the old 50 dungeons and even there, once I get tanks regened and full HP, the moment I swap to Cleric I'm having to disable it cause the tank just lost half their health and I gotta heal them asap. I'm really not understanding this whole dps and heal stuff. v_v

If the tank is dropping that fast, then they are either undergeared, a bad tank who doesn't use cooldowns or both. Good tanks don't drop from full health to almost dead in a matter of a few seconds.

Successfully working DPS into your healing depends partly on your own sense of timing and your prep; it otherwise depends on your party members playing decently, especially your tank.

You can't do much about the latter, but for your part you can get a feel for your tank's durability and be anticipating damage spikes and lengthy enemy casting animations so that you can stance dance effectively.

I dunno, I'm starting to fall into the same rut that got me to quit when I first mained as a healer, having to dps when all I wanna do is be a healer and focus on that and dodging mechanics of fights. All these expectations to dps even as a Ast just has me thinking of what is the point of being a healer when I'm having to dps all the same, may as well just go back to being a dps if that's all that people want. I dunno, I love the healing part, but the part of dpsing and having to manage the two when the group refuses to move out of aoe or let monsters wail on me while they move on to pulling the next half of the dungeon and I'm being left to fend for myself with constant interruptions to my casts... I may not be cut out to be a healer if I'm meant to also be a dps, else I get labeled as the worst healer ever and get banned from all teams because "omg don't invite that healer, he only heals". :(

There's so much healing downtime in this game that providing some DPS is expected of good players, yes.

That being said, don't look at it as "I have to DPS and simultaneously heal my ass off." You should almost Always Be Casting, but if you legitimately need to focus on healing, you can't be faulted for doing your primary duty.

I dunno, unless this downtime happens at level 60 with higher ilvls, I can't see it as I'm spending 100% of my time in dungeons having to heal, so much so that I'm often running out of mana while the group is still pulling more monsters and I'm having to scramble to get Ewer cards or praying that LA finishes so I can use it again before the tank dies. I mean I'm having to keep all my healing cooldowns on constant use just to keep up with the amount of monsters pulled and damage being taken by the tank and dps and it makes me wonder what am I doing wrong that I can't get time to dps.

If the tank is running off while your low on mana, then they're not good, which likely means that they aren't using cool downs either.

A good tank is always watching the healer's mp instead of always charging like a maniac.

Well, is there a way that I can accurately diagnose what I like? I've often run into situations thinking I've found a perfect main when there are much better options that are out there waiting for me, but I just haven't found them due to me not really knowing what I want.
