More lively worlds, Can I have it?

Besieged was an "event" in FFXI where the town was raided by Beastmen and depending on the outcome, certain NPCs would be captured that had to be rescued... including vendors that sold exclusive stuff. Town (or outskirts of Town) Besieged-esque FATEs that brought more immersion into the game would be a welcome feature for which I am certain many folks would enjoy. Perhaps area reputation ranks could be attained for rescuing/participating in the events, rewards to include lowering vendor items costs and/or providing access to new items at shops.

or it can be something right between the two, like they can sell Crawler Silk or Hardsilver Ore.

it's not 100% crucial since there's always other ways to get the items but for the people who don't want to get those items those other ways (monster drops or rare gathering items), they can buy it from the NPCs at a set price.

also the way the FATE system is currently set in the game, if nobody at all is doing it, it's very easy for 1 or 2 people to do it, you don't need to gather a bunch of competent people to do a FATE.
