I don't understand why people feel the need to be babied so much outside of actual hard raids and EX's especially in Steps of Faith as it was heavily nerfed, if the group was half decent you could of simply ignored everything lol.

Usually yes, because he has the authority to hold threat thus controls the pace of the run. Not to mention the lack of tanks. When I run as a tank I always ask if all are aware of the fight, if anyone needs a break before a boss pull.
When I heal I let the tank do this job, I might drop a line or two to explain if anyone is ignored by the others. If I get a fresh tank, I usually lead either as a healer or a DPS. Giving a good example to others, and it's like real life; if you want to be a leader or a head of department you should know how to it, so do it now!
Be friendly, I know some don't watch videos / read guides.. But that adds to your value.
The "raid leader" should be whoever is the most comfortable with the fight and its mechanics. That might be the tank, it might be the healer, or it might be a DPS. No one should be pushed into explaining if they don't feel comfortable doing so, regardless of what their role is.
And, frankly, there's a certain burden on the people asking for an explanation as well. If you're going to demand that someone else take the time to explain a fight to you, don't get upset if their explanation isn't as thorough as you'd been hoping, because they have no obligation to be your teacher.
I 9/10 times will always explain or summarize the mechanics of the fight.
I explain the fight NOT to help you/ baby spoon feed u.
I explain the fight so you DONT WASTE MY TIME.
Simple as that, i could care less what u do in other parties. But if ur in a party with me i expect us to clear the instance before time runs out.
U learned something new? Good for you, go tell ur friends & family
U earn a gold star!
I apologize for that. I came in here not long after long drawn out Keeper of the Lake where one DPS refused to LB and the other didn't listen at all. One a quarter hours, six wipes to the final boss. Anyone would be pissy. But that doesn't excuse me for an uncalled for comment. Irony since an earlier post pointed out another uncalled for comment.
(Don't ask me why I stayed in there...I have no idea.)
I would hate to be the first people in there then.
Honestly, while I do generally ask my FC if there's any advice they can give me prior to queuing up, I can't learn myself via other means. Videos are worthless to me, and guides are just long words. If I see something, I can adapt to learn how to avoid it fairly quick.
Though I still loathe getting Steps of Faith in my roulette. I've not been able to manage that one as tank yet.
This is sadly a by product of the whole "tank decides the pace of the run and tank decides if we do a EXP run or a SPEEDRUN". Players are turning alot of the choices that should have been WE into a I (for the tank), because of this we expect alot more from tanks then other rolls. This harms tanks, because this put unnecessary pressure on them, tanks are often required to know the tactics, compared to the healers and dps. Afcourse there are alot of tanks who take advantage of this and become "DA BOSS" they act like selfish pricks who dont care about their fellow players and when things dont go their way, they pull a hissy fit and blackmail their fellow players with leaving a dungeon (so they have to wait a long time for a new tank).
As a tank, healer and dps, I have seen both the ups and downs of being a tank. OP I think there is nothing you can do, you explained and they did not like it, its best to deal with it and move on.
It's not their job.
However, the role assumed the forward position. People look to the tank for guidance. Even in 'tankless' fights like Steps.
It's a community made sense of responsibility on every tanks shoulders.
As a tank I absolutely love it. I get to be senpai for 15 minutes.
But others absolutely hate it and will not tank at all.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
