I don't get all the weird defensiveness in this thread.

Thanks for sharing though! I dunno if I'd go with quite these settings (looks great in some scenes, don't know that it's working for me in others) but as you said it's a matter of taste and it's great to see what's out there.

:o that bloom though!. Do you have any UI bloom issues with those settings?, i can only use bloom slightly otherwise it shows on my hotbars D:.
Also thank you for the contribution , i will put this in my original post for people that might like this preset :D

Honestly i don't get any of that bloom myself, at least not on that scale, these are just the links i copied from a thread before. I think those screens were with FXAA on which i always directly turn off since it makes everything fuzzy.

I love the look of Sweetfx and Reshade, I just have one annoyance with it that I cannot stand. And that is that it also affects the text/font making it look funny. As if it was squished or pulled in some way. If it didnt do this, I would totally use Reshade.

That is only 1 option tough, i cannot remember which one, think its either smaa or fxaa but might be wrong.
Anyway, i had that before, turned that off and chat looks fine.

Nearly every intense setting will affect text unfortunately. If you're using extreme settings then you might want to look into the UI mask tool either from gedosato or reshade itself.

No im not actually, what im defending is the fact that i stated that this is my personal preference of visual fidelity and that the posts intended use is what you can get out of reshade if you so choose. And then people come in and comment useless things which do not contribute to anything here and also come down to their own personal taste. To which i say, cool but this is not a preset so why complain about something that does not effect you?. The screenshots are simply information and encouragement for people that want a better look out of the game but have not seen different styles of reshade or a different style to XIV in general.

That's fine, the beautiful part of that is you don't need to, but if you want to you can :)

Your setup is absolutely stunning. Personally, I would die without SweetFX/Reshade. The colors in FFXIV are so dull and muted that it feels blah to look at them. It hurts my eyes from straining to see if I put too much contrast or saturation, myself, but these are splitscreens of my setup:

It's SMAA that makes the text messed up. FXAA slightly messes with it but it's only noticeable while staring directly at the text while toggling Reshade.

While you can't make a perfect fancy preset for everything, every single scene in the game would (and does) benefit from subtle contrast adjustments and extra color. I don't think heavier/distracting things like DoF are good for constant gameplay, of course. That's for screenshots.
