Can we please get a serious 24-man raid in 3.1?

You don't want to join a bigger FC? That's perfectly fine: what prevents you from joining a dedicated Linkshell? Or creating/joining a party finder? Or shouting in the area close to the raid? Hell, you could even "ally" with another FC and form a mixed alliance.

...And then people complain this game isn't social enough.

I could see better longer more rewarding alliance raids if they just made it 2 full party's and not 3.

If it requires 24 people from the same FC, none of that seems very helpful, though. I know you didn't mention it in the OP, but a few others have mentioned that this could be "large FC content". Personally, I'm not against the idea of a harder 24 man raid but SE won't do it. It's not the intended audience for their 24 man content, unfortunately.

1- Not necessarily.
2- It is true even for 8 man raids.
3- Gear isn't everything.
4- Because boss mechanics in a well designed 24 man raid are usually more interesting than those in smaller size party content (that 's the main reason large scale raids existed in other MMO).
5- Why ? Gear isn't everything and smaller FC could gang up together to tackle on content.
6- Not my problem. Anyway one cannot say we got a handful of new features in the latest expansion.
7- A raid doesn't cost millions of dollars, anyway we re paying a monthly subscription cost and the expansion.
8- Well then SE is going to have a surprise if the company expect the game to last for a decent amount of time.

The problem is nothing changes in a 24 man raid. It still equals an 8 man in the end as far as balance should go. Why waste so much money and time so people can be in a bigger raid that is the same as an 8 man? And if you are suggesting to segregate that smaller FC's for the sake of a bigger FC that MAY do a 24 man than you have no business skills at all. Ashkendor is right. Bigger is not always better.

1 - Still yes. You just don't 3x's damage and mechanics because there is 8 groups there.
2 - Still proves another point. Timely and costly.
3 - Gear is defiantly everything in end game. That is the main reason you go to a raid.
4 - Except 24 man raids are a thing in the past. Even wow is burying that hatchet adding Flex raids and reducing 24 man raids to 20 man mythic.
5 - Except they wont. You expect too much from raiders.
6 - That is very much your problem! If it fails than everyone suffers. You are literally thinking of only yourself.
7 - And you are getting exactly what you paid for and yes, it cost millions.
8 - At the moment they are doing pretty damn good.

WoW went full on raid or die. It's the only viable content at level cap.

That's not the case here. Stop trying to do so please. Plenty of other games that fit that playstyle. When all games are the absolute exact same thing why have different games?

add a hard mode to next 24 man raid (only joinable as premade party and share weekly gear drop with normal mode)? yes
