He also was comparing that to our weakest skill Twinsnake. If the recast timer is 1.5 sec then that's 7 secs to get a 320 potency vs a rotation which your not subbing in meditation there's no way Meditation comes out on top. Bootshine crit along makes up for about 2/3 of the damage from FC.

Unless you can do math to prove the point I can't see your option being viable :(

I was ilvl 180 and 6 ilvls isnt going to be give you 200-300 dps no matter what you do. the reason you are alot lower is because you are stacking meditation when you have 100% uptime which is a massive dps loss regardless if its on 1.5 gcd. Go run your ACT right now do a full 4 mins without using chakra inside the rotation ofc stack it at the start and get your one Forbbiden chakra then just do your rotation, then go do a second parse with what you have been doing you will 100% see a dps loss doing it your way.

I think of myself as a really exceptional monk, one of the best. I also think I'm a very exceptional drg. I cannot touch my drg with my monk. So you need to play with better dragoons.

Don't forget that said DRG also contributed more utility to the raid without having to sacrifice his damage to do so.

you just had to remind me <.<, it use to be monks were less damage because the utility we brought, but now that drk are out and monk dragon kick and an int debuff can be had elsewhere all we really bring is a mantra of 30% heal, although it does synergize well, its not enough to warrant such a dps hit in end game content now

now the part where it gets worse: our mantra is 20%, not 30%
i still think if mch dps was considered blunt, everything would be a LOT better, but alas, more power to the dragoons..

yoshi did mention balance updates when savage alexander comes out though, and he has also said that he wanted monk to be top dps, and while im not entirely sure we should be top dps (i still factor in disembowel and the like as drg dps btw), it does give us hope to be a little more on par.

lol, it doesnt seem like with the new dragoon positonal changes again, unless they increase monk positionals which i hope not because im still holding out hoping we get new skill rework D:

Kinda obvious why Monk would be highest DPS. They offer the least utility of any other melee DPS. If they don't have the highest dps then they are pointless to take unless you dont have a DRK. Is any other class invalidated entirely by the inclusion of another class?

Makes me sad to know they're removing the little hard work DRG had to do to be highest DPS, now they get to be top DPS for less work! I know DRG was far down for a while, but that is no reason for them to be so high now .-.
