I am happy to cite claims I have made upon specific requests. If you don't think the point is important enough to prove for your own claims, that is your prerogative. You state this as a fact, where does it say this? Other primals distinctly had specific entities of the past from which to draw the memory, and the form, of the primals, and with the existence of Phoenix down feathers in Eorzea, you cannot discount that such a being did exist, even if long forgotten. As the twins detailed.

Duude007 there is no explanation that beacuse lack on the BLessing of Light, a self sacrifica was required to create one. What Minfilia said, where just suggestions, that maybe was that maybe not, of the situation of those events she couldnt be sure, no one could. The Blessing of light was like a shield, that Hydaelyn gave the WoL in order to come some inmunity to some powerfull atacks than on those times we couldnt be able to resist, but that changed. ( The fack that we defeated Nabriales withouth the blessing confirms that.)
It was Hydaelyn who gave the WoL the power to create the blade of light, but if a mortal being wants to re create such a weapon withouth a god's help its when a self sacrifice would be required I suppose.

if memory serves me correctly (info i got some info from 1.0 players) (spoiler is ones are hidden)
Ifrit was an amalj'aa thaumatage.

Garuda was possibly a siren (or metaphorical god of the ixali that became physical then snapped) (the triple triad card is a mix of the two)
Titan (using some 1.0 and 2.0) was a kobold myhtical golem who would protect the kobolds and there caves.
Leviathan mythical sea monster
ramuh (no real info on this one) most likely was a famed scholar who was looked at highly by the sylphs.

zentetsuken ( and in turn odin) was summoned by the wishes for a weapon to test the mantle of men.
bahamut (using 3.0 info here) was one of the son's of midgardsommr, who could of been once been a large fluffy like dragon (like how the 7 sons are shown in public artwork) before being summoned by the mercydians (and possibly molded more into there image)

the twelve, were technically summoned by lousoix and the archons, lived a short 'life' creating a Dalamud before being destroyed, (weather this was a proper summon is debated so far)

and Phoenix was created from the prayers and memories of the end of the calamity and people prayed for rebirth

finally RNGeesus the strongest primal of them all he only excists in the meta screwing us over >:C (i had to throw a joke one in)

I think it was actually a simple matter of "not enough aether." We had close to enough, but Moenbryda chose to link to a small isolated reserve for the dry run, which unfortunately ended up being used on Nabriales almost immediately. I don't think we're going to start burning up our allies one by one to kill off Ascians, because that wouldn't really solve anything in the long run.

If only there were some larger source of efficient aether-convertible energy we could tap into... Gee, I really wish there was something like that standing around real obvious-like... But there's just nothing that convenient, is there? Shame.

Bahamut wasn't always a primal, more a historical being brought back to life. The twelve could be primals in the same sense. in fact most of the primals could be like this, Ramuh must have existed for a long time at least.

He literally says he became something. Whether he knew what that something was before becoming it is not at all mentioned.

I know, thats why I tried to explain. But lets get this clears it was now beacuse the lack of the blessing.

I was certain I read somewhere that Loui did not intend to fully summon the 12, and never intended to survive. Didn't he plan to die before they fully manifested, because of the danger of a full summoning? And by dying, end the ritual just in time to prevent the summoning?
