Hunt Griefing: Solution to Community Woes?

I have to ask, what exactly defines an early pull?

I've been at hunts were a group stands around announcing it for 10 minutes before people start showing up. A few finally trickle in so they pull and all of the sudden there are the people complaining about the early pulls. I've also seen over a 100 people gather in a couple minutes so it is pulled. Same deal, people start complaining about early pulls.

Personally, I think hunts should be renamed to "Public Executions" and changed. Instead of those awful nasty trolls who probably spawned the S rank or came across it ruining everything, it will allow ME-- I mean, the COMMUNITY the chance to get max seals and tomestones. The Public Execution should not do anything until everyone on the server is there and then they can all throw stones at it to get the reward. The rewards should be Dreadwrym gear because hunts require so much time and energy looking at a Linkshell or an external website to see if the hunt has come up. I mean, it's totally fine if I get my seals but when I don't it's actually a community issue!

Alternatively, you could make hunts invincible until I arrive on the scene because I deserve everything for the game told me I am a true warrior of light and I should be able to do everything even if it means covering my selfishness and laziness behind "content being too difficult" or waiting on my Chinese Whisper Linkshells to tell me that an S rank just spawned.

SE need to fix this problem, I've got to have full Ilvl 130 poetics before trying Garuda Extreme... That thing is way too touch and should be nerfed!!!!!

Early Pull is a community fabricated term that I find widely misused. Unless there is a pre-defined pull time announced zone-wide by the person who found the mark, then any pull is fair. Most of the time it's just a way for people to complain.

Which wwould be a problem because? We've already seen hunts be less popular, and guess what, they worked better and were enjoyable.

There is no definition, but people will pull with the express intent of screwing other hunters out of a kill because they got there first. When I'm hunting, I'll always relay a mark as soon as it's found to reward others who're searching. Time and again, it's the same people pulling on arrival that puts people off from even bothering to hunt. They're not in my LS and are blacklisted, so it's not as if I can control the flow of information nor would I try. Simply have to hope they get there in time.

They should make the weekly hunts into dailies instead. 50 GC seals a day should atleast decrease the amount of doing A/S hunts. That way if they want GCs fast they can still join into these parties and for people who'd rather not do that then they can hunt B's on a daily basis and get seals for upgrades at a steady pace

Why can't it be that they just want to kill the thing and get on with their lives?

How is it a "Hunt" if you're just standing around waiting for a shout and not finding the mob yourself and killing it?

It just irritates me when I see the word "Griefing" being used. There is no "griefing" happening.

There are the rules of the game that SE makes up - break those and that's Griefing. Then there are fake rules that the player-base makes up. Breaking those is not griefing because they are fake rules.

The only griefing that goes on in hunts are people who intentionally reset the mark.

Indeed, this was - if i remember correctly - confirmed by a GM...

That pretty much sums it up.
Hunters get hunts. That's not in any way close to griefing.
