in any meaningful way? not really; the only difference is on jugulate/mug anyway. you'd mostly always be using viper in raid content, but you can put on wasp to stun adds for 2s on shiva ex and switch back to viper afterwards; and you probably should switch from viper to wasp for dreadknights on t5.

but it's all really minor lol. in open world or dungeons wasp is nice for the stun, for positionals, cc or interrupts (satasha hm first boss if no one else is going to stun for example)

In a raid situation you're probably looking at 3 seconds for a mudra cast, it can be done at 2-2.5s sometimes. I figure it's better to estimate stat weights on the low side/given bad conditions, so go with 3 seconds for mudra.

Just need to think of a way to effectively add Mudra's to this model and include the GDC downtime of using them, then a first iteration of a NIN sim should be working. I'd need to do some thorough testing and check that all of the data I plugged in is correct (Just found a mistake with the duration of Mutilate I used...) but that'll come after I've hit 50 on my nin, so give me another week or so to finish it up.

Also, could someone me a link to their lodestone so I can see their gear, as well as the number of their parsed DPS?

Should swap mutilate and shadow fangs order,

Huton pre-pull > SE > B4B > GS > IR > DE > Suiton > SE* > Trick Attack > SF* > Kassatsu > Mutilate* > Raiton > SE > Mug > GS > Jugulate > AE.

That way your dots are all being affected by trick attack.

I think this is what I was doing by "mistake" when testing that opener.

EDIT3: I'm running more parse now using this rotation. I'll post my results and a screenshot of the parse if I can get prtscn to work.

I did something like this today and parsed 466 and 470 w/ i110 weapon (varjas) today. When I ran something different, the highest I parsed was 455.

someone explained to me today in game that you want to try and get your dots up as often as you can when you use TA.

Something along the line of, if you have less than 15 seconds on z mutilate (which happens a lot) and you just used TA, overwrite it during the TA debuff window.

If you have at most 5 seconds between when SF and when your going to do TA, wait until you use TA to reapply SF.

Edit: what is the dps increase going from varjas base weapon damage to HA cleavers?

Not sure about cleavers, but when I switched to Diamond Daggers, I jumped about 20 DPS.



EDIT: So, what seems to be working best for me (today at least) is;

Huton (~3s wait/run to target) > BfB > SE > IR > SF > Mutilate > SE > Jugulate > GS > Mug > DE > SE > GS > Suiton > AE > TA > SE > Kassatsu > SF > Raiton > Mutilate...

I'm sure it's far from optimal but I got 497 DPS in 3:18 with a 640~ inital burst. These openers with long waits feel far too unatural for me to pull off. Maybe it's just me, but I've yet to be able to time a 10-15s wait Huton with a coil boss pull.

with huton on pull, 500~ dps over 3m10s or so, no food/party/x-pot. seems lowish though for people around this ilvl (114)

with huton 15s precast, 510~ dps. honestly probably isn't a 10 dps increase because of different openers, but just crit rng

I'm really liking this opener. Much less stressful to execute as long as you don't try to squeeze in a 2nd raiton. Just cast Huton while your mages cast SS and Protect. You've got roughly 35 seconds to get Suiton and Kass/Raiton off before Huton needs refreshing. The best part? If I crit AE during that opening TA debuff, it's eeeasily over 700 burst and finishes just above the other openers around 500 DPS. These are the same numbers I used to get from my old opener, which included LOTS of Assasinates. I'm going to keep playing with this for a while and see how much it improves.

This one was an accident durring testing but it gave me slightly higher burst, RNG maybe, but just as effective.

Numbers seem very high for your gear, but perhaps it's due to this. Please don't spam Assassinate, it completely skews the results in a terrible way. Shouldn't even use it at all when testing a rotation.
