I thought so too, but re-read it; it could be something lost in translation, but it clearly says the player housing will be introduced after FC rooms with the size being larger than inn rooms.

I certainly know I misread it the first time as well.

I swear I read the opposite, that Yoshida said 850,000 gil was too low and would probably be higher.

The bold part is important and crushed my dreams of owning a mansion like FC's can have in a large ward like mist. Now I believe they'll be nothing more than smaller FC rooms with no physical residence or community ward.

That's my thinking as well. Technically personal housing could just be your house in it's own little zone that you buy, with the front yard being part of that zone, which would allow for gardening, chocobo raising, and for everyone to feasibly acquire their own house. Meets the requirements of being a money sink, satisfying the part of the community that wouldn't have been able to acquire a house if it was ward-based, and allowing players to access the features of the game that are tied to housing. Personally I'm crossing my fingers for the size to be between a medium and a small FC house. So like a medium house but maybe without the basement or top floor.

There's actually another option: join a FC that isn't led by asshats.

In our FC everyone can do anything with the house except throw it away.

Reading up (everything I can find) on Personal Housing, I'm really starting to get the feeling I'm going to be massively disappointed. I'd at least hope we could have different sized Houses, because you know, I've been saving up for this since launch, and they keep delaying it, so I keep saving up more. At this point I could just form a FC for myself and buy a Medium size House when they add more Wards I guess, but still. I guess I'll be fine if they're at least in the same zone, I really like Lavender Beds and I already picked out my ideal plot, not even being allowed that would be a massive buzz kill.

The 850,000 gil ballpark range is actually starting to make me laugh at least. Can we please buy multiple Houses? I want to own an entire Ward. I do remember something pre-launch about us being able to trade Plots, I could be a virtual real estate agent; everyone already hates me enough for that.

Gods, I really wish they didn't give us information on content pre-launch if it wasn't even going to be here a year after... Stuff like Personal Housing and Primal Summoning really were mentioned far too soon.

I remember a few live letters ago when they discussed the pricing for personal housing. At the time they said they were thinking 850k, but Yoshi-P was worried that it was still too much. I think in the same live-letter they said that players have on average 2 mil gil.

All I can say is that in the past 2 months I've made almost 14 mil gil without even actively trying to make gil. I can only imagin how rich people that actually focus on making gil are. The game just tosses so much gil at players nowadays that I expect the prices to be higher than 850k.

But, given that 2.38 is being released next week and we barely knwo anything about personal housing, something tells me it's getting delayed.

I'm just waiting for the info on the personal housing to decide whether I get that or the plot of land I've been looking at for a small FC house for myself (all my friends left the game, so I'm in charge by default). If it gives me everything that an FC house can do (gardening, chocobo raising, airship, etc.) and still costs less, then I'll be personal-homeward bound.
