If it doesn't mean anything, why do coil more than once then? Why Do ST more than once? Why play the game at all if anything you accomplish doesn't mean anything?
I just don't think the solution people are proposing will work simply because it will end up creating those 7-man parties that have completed it and selling or doing it for the sake of the 8th man getting the weapon or gear.
The only way I could see this working is if:
1- Only an 8man party consisting of members that have complete the turn can repeat turns for the week and have no loot drop, or;
2- For the number of players in the party who are doing it for the first time in the week, have RNG generate a number to roll against them to even the odds. Although this would have to be adjusted given that there are only 2 tanks per party but then again, there would be the advantage of him/her already being locked out and just running for your loot. Also;
3- You can only attempt a turn on savage after completing the regular coil or appropriate turn for the week i.e. once you do T6, you can complete savage, or attempt, T6 as often as you like for the week but remove loot drops
