Idea to stop resetting hunt mobs!

Even just making the mob take longer to kill would fall under that. How are you to know if a person needs to go in exactly 2 minutes to catch a bus, or whatever, and you resetting it means they have to go afk and miss out?

And especially with a B rank it's quite possible for enough people to show up after a reset (or several) that you don't get full credit that you would have.

Well, you go ahead and report someone for ToS violation for resetting a mob and lets get a GM opinion. Personally, I can think of many things more disrupting to the game experience than this that also would not be a violation.


You may not have done much hunting but it takes only a couple hits plus auto attack on a B mob to get full credit assuming your party is all present and doing their bit. If your party was in position to get full credit before, you'll get it after a reset as well.

The bottom line is IMO most people who complain about resetting have a "thing" about the big hunt LS groups and want them to fail. We even have someone on our Server who forms a "screw "the big hunt LS" group that purposefully pulls immediately on every hunt to deny the big hunt group. He even advertises his intent on PF. Now, if you want to talk about disruption, let's talk about that.

Both are forms of disruption. I get the feeling you don't get where I'm coming from. I've done a fair amount of hunting, not that I'd need to; it's not rocket science.

As far as a GM opinion? SE's already commented on this exact issue saying that 3.2 applies. Not that they'd need to do that either; it's pretty self-explanatory.

You seem mad. I just don't think I'm one of the people you're mad at... Try re-reading what I put in there about being pretty patient with pulls and how I think a fair amount of resets are good.

If you aren't in a full group, after the reset it can be really difficult to get full credit. I found an S rank the other day, told my FC, we had 5 people there, we shouted in the zone, and after about 15 more people showed up we pulled. The pull was about 5 or 6 minutes after I originally found it, the mob wasn't "hunting" for it, or they all would have been there sooner. As soon as we pull, a certain know douchebag for resetting immediately reset it, during the reset, he drug it over where most of the healers/casters were and got a lot of them one shotted. As soon as the first reset was done, most of the mob had shown up, and it was burned down pretty quick, fast enough where a lot of the casters/healers didn't have time to get raised, so all of them ended up getting no credit. Many people reported because of this, myself included. After a long chat with a GM, he told me that they have to have proof that person resetting is doing it on purpose, he said they use chat logs, and can look at battle/aggro logs, but if there isn't hard evidence then they tend to "lean towards innocence" for all players. I personally have reported this guy 3 times for it in under 2 weeks, and nothing has happened to him, in those times he has shouted to stop attacking until the reset occurs, or yelled "Please report me, I am resetting to troll you." So it's obvious the GM's have contacted him about it, but he is still playing and doing it, so even with their privacy policy to not reveal the results of their investigations, it's clear they are not taking actions against it. So basically according to that GM, it is against the ToS, but once again, they aren't doing anything about it.

1) Only S Ranks are capable of instantly killing you and they are rare.
2) You have Stealth.
3) Why should you be able to Mine in peace? Eorzea is supposed to be a dangerous place post calamity but it doesn't feel like it.

I'm not convinced. I am not sold on the idea of constant threat just to travel

So now it's changed from Mining to Travelling? And S Ranks spawn roughly every 48-72 hours, sometimes longer if their spawn conditions aren't met. Not exactly, er, a constant threat is it?

Not to mention, you have Stealth.

More like with 5 people you are not gonna get full credit unless all 5 are tanks with over 530 strength or white mages spamming medica 2, and either way all 5 of you would die from an S rank. You should have waited for more people so you didnt die in the first place, sounds like you got what you deserved.

I said we shouted and about 15 more showed up, 20 people can take down an S rank, it won't be as fast as 200 doing it, but 20 people can handle it. Also not all of us died, only one from my FC died, but a couple other healers/casters died when the douchebag drug it over them to reset it, you should brush up on your reading comprehension and retention a bit more before you start telling people they got what they deserved.
