Request: OPEN WORLD PVP

No. Just no.

FF was never about open world pvp, and never should be. It would just ruin the game period. All I have ever seen in open world pvp is griefing. No thanks keep it out of FF. If that is what you really want, then FF isn't for you.

Care to elaborate why not? It would add more things to do in game and not just sit in town for 6 days a week after finishing coil. People work to get the best gear in game for what? to look pretty and sit in town.
With an open pvp it would encourage people to be more active and competitive with other players.

this would suck if your a gathering class, mining a lvl 45-50 node and getting killed by a player lol.

I am all for this idea. I'm a big fan of PvP and would love to see this enabled. Of course with an option to turn on/off World PvP. This doesn't affect pure PvM players so I don't see why some of them are even posting in this thread.

Hence why people have been talking about an option to enable/disable World PvP. If someone is on a gathering class and has that option on, then clearly he/she is a masochist.

I would like a PVP that didn't involve killing since FFXIV has so many features that are undervalued.

yep. and it would be as simple as just typing the command of /pvp to flag up to other pvp players
