Not a bug! Just not Artisan Gear as i suspected.Quote:
Topic 18: The Ixali Gloves are weak!
Ixali quests were designed for new crafters not existing hardcore crafters, so gloves aren't OP

And the "barrier of entry" for having a printing press on Artisan Spectacles isn't? Let's talk about the ease in which you can create Artisan Specs. Take LTW. Synth yourself 20 Hippogryph leather. Make 10 Gryphonskin straps. Done. If you have the artisan tool already (which you would anyway), you can have a 100% HQ rotation on the leather and in turn, have no issue HQing the straps. And you can do this. All day. Most of the time, each Artisan specs cost 40k (give or take).
That's laughable.
Ixal gloves on the other hand? You are time-limited. You'd still need to level desynth, just like GSM. Sure, you need to have some decent gear to make the baubles for the spec turn-in. But, I doubt you'd find a LTW with desynth skill that isn't already 3-star capable.
And time is money? If it costs 40k plus 30 synths to make 1 Artisan Spectacles...compare that to the time it takes to do the 10 ixal quests (talking to the NPCs, running here and there, doing the synths, going back and doing turn-ins, etc). You could make the 40k easily in that amount of time. So, that isn't even an issue.
Emphasis on entry. Artisan tools and specs required melded gear to get in the first place, whereas any fresh crafter can pick up the Ixal Gloves.
^ This. Artisan gear requires a substantial financial investment (max melds) as well as a time investment (rng). You are assuming that each spec will always desynth into an F3 or a master which they dont!
U cant compare this to doing dailies with a crafter below level 10. As much as u want these gloves to be desynthable it just wouldnt be balanced, plain and simple.
I bet all the ppl who cry about maxing desynthing is way too expensive obviously have never played oldschool ff11 ^^
seriously most of stuff in 14 is a joke to cap beside the endless grinding stuff for novus^^
investing money before harvesting is a basic of most stuff^^
lets say i spent maybe 30-40kk to get all crafts + gsm + leather desynth caped alchemy 93 or so
mostly broke while i was getting all crafts to 3 stars and lvling desynthing
but at "end" i made back far more than what i have spent maybe 5x more sofar:-D
so stop crying just do what u have to do to make more gil gl^^
How much is the drop rate of MCDs? i desynthsis 24 specs so far not even one! huge time sink to craft 240 relish only to get rose gold ingot and nugget! i know its low drop rate but is it that low?
I hate the drop rates too :( I did about 33 desynths and got four MCDs, but three of them were all in a row at the very end. From data I compiled a while back, the drop rate appears to be somewhere around 16.67%. So, in theory, you should get one every six desynths. In reality, it's very random.
It is indeed very random. Out of 27 desynths, I got 1 MCD. Lost 5 and got 4 FCIII. In my case, SE's plan to keep people "engaged" by using such heavy handed rng has backfired. I simply have lost momentum to continue with this grind for naught. I no longer care about supra which means I will spend less time in game except to craft some things to sell, my raid food and potions. I will probably get the offhand for ALC and CUL, but beyond that, I now have zero interest. I think I will wait and see what 3.0 brings, but if it is more of the same painful rng grind, I highly doubt I will continue with more than just ALC and CUL again. Kind of sad for me, since I kinda liked crafting, I just don't want to deal with the frustration and disappointment any more.
I realize that RNG is RNG, but the amount of times that I see statistically rare streaks (bad and good) makes me wonder. Some of these streaks have a 1 in a 1,000,000 chance of occurring and I've seen them happen multiple times. I'm talking instances where you fail a 24% chance meld 15 times.
Update : 36 artisan specs,no MCD (all desynthsises successful)... might as well just give up and buy them from market for 1 million each!
