Well if by 6 months they mean 6 months to create an entire complex set from which they can derive 3-6 lesser sets + recolors (as seen in the video), then that is a little more reasonable XD ... hopefully that is the case.
I guess this makes sense. They should have been more specific, in that case. They could have said, "At this time, with so much devoted to core mechanics, it takes us 6 months to pump out one armor set. Once we have the core mechanics squared away, we will be able to devote much more resources to designing new equipment."
But the way they said it makes it seem like that is the case regardless of where there resources are being spent.
And the argument that they are moving so slowly to not waste more money than they have to does not make much sense to me. Not many people are going to buy into the game if content comes at a snail pace at this point to warrant future purchases/subscriptions.
Well it's not like they're doing them one set at a time.
I'm tired of recolored gear, I dont even want to do the dungeons because the rewards itself just look like crap imo. It's ridiculous that there are maybe 10 different sets of gear across all the classes and everything else is recolor or reskin from those. FFXIV has the least gear options I've seen since XI was released in 2002.
Wow, so much stupid in one thread. Impressive.
They can release new models every month if they wanted to, all they have to do is start preparing them six months in advance. The logic that they can't start working on new models before the old ones have been implemented is absurd. Not to mention the logic that only one set can be created at time.
The only limiting factor here is money, plain and simple. The schedule doesn't matter once they've gotten started.
I bet these modeller amateurs have to work with movable characters and having to make the equipment fit with every existing piece of equipment. Six months is a Godly speed for one modeller to finish one set of gear. They have more modellers of course, but also seven new models to work on. Seven new models even in a year... It's a lot for any game.
There are 17+ unique models as of today. No vanilla MMO has had much more than that, of the same quality.Quote:

One set of equipment is a vague term which could mean many things.
One set of equipment could mean:
Sabotons, Greaves, Cuirass, Tassets, Helmets etc in all difference metals (tiers) and all different colours, with several different embellishments and decorations. So that is like 100 different items or more.
6 months for 100 or more items doesn't seem so bad.
