Can we just combine all the mage complaint threads into one big long novel?
I am (only) CON rank 31 but I love the new changes ....
While a lot of people ask for AA system of FF XI, I personnally did not vote for it because i thought that the game need to fix technical bugs and improve already existing system instead of taking everything from FF XI.
But now i love it LOL !!!
The addition of AA and increase of MP Heal made the mage job for me completly extraordinary !!!
So I completely disagree with you but maybe i am too low to see it (personaly i hate endgame) :
Last night, i was doing solo leves rank 30 with my CON 31 i was fighting group of monsters between 28 adn 35 and YES the fight was a litlle longer a little more difficult but so more FUN and interesting
I never actually had to wait for MP because :
I was not spamming cures for nothing
I was syphon MP mobs
I use the skills Spiritbind
Protection Stygian Spikes
And the refresh MP skill
So i was shocked at the beginning by the increase of MP for Cure but it is a really good thing because now i can really have a job of healer in a party (did multiple times toto-rak) and the tank or dd close range is not healing for me and its challenging and fun to play : i have to use all my skills !!!
I agree that there is some adjustments to do (Group SP, Enmity, ...) but for the mage, AA and increase of MP was a true revelation !!!
I se several problems in this thought process which seems to be an all to common on.
1. Up to this point, both mage classes were basically the main healers. Its not much of a change in general role.
2. Who did you think was gonna get the WHM role if we had one. THM, seriously, with all there dark and death related spells. Players think they would be WHM over the cure/protect/shell using class, seriously ?.
3. The way everyone mentions FFXI and says I want X job from that game, and with so few speaking out against all the "I want FFXI-II" cryers, demanding of jobs in such a way, your just asking to get pigeon holes like that.
it is true that this is just the beginning and the foundation only. But some things can be applied to RL circumstances too.
If a construction company makes the 'foundation' of a new building out of brittle steel beams....you ask yourself this;
- will it get better?
- if it does get better will there be any side effects due to that crappy 'foundation'?
agree with OP
I was very confused at first, but grew accustomed to the new play-style. I have to play smarter now. My elemental spells seem to hit harder, I have to use more skills which I haven't even looked at pre-patch, I have to watch what other CONs in my party are doing so I don't waste my mp on unnecessary heals....
You just can't spam spells like crazy any more, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm loving it.
I just want to know what idiot came up with the high mp cost of the cure spells. This is the only thing broken. Our party consist of 4 mages now and when fighting NM MP management is nearly impossible especially with more than one close range DD fighting. 4 mages 3 archers and a tank. perfect party due to only being able to cast 7 cures. I do not belive there needed to be a seperate cure for AOE. They could have just removed Thaums AOE cure and maybe slightly raised mp cost and that would be fine. But 187 for curaga is broken and i will not pay SE to play this garbage if it stays this way.
Nice try? interesting, as I have 10+ post in the previous discussions explaining why they would make THM, BLM before CON and CON, WHM if anyhing.
Whats moronic is calling it flawed logic when its already fact...real genious there pal.........CON walks the path of nature and its elements, while THM walks the line between life and death, as the quest for both classes specify. DiD you take that into account? You want to make FFXI and its classes too relavent, when they are not. What you are doing is applying "flawed logic LMAO. Nice try though".
That being said, I believe that in the near future they will scale back some of the MP requirements a bit.
