International Server?

To be honest with you, I think SE just likes it as a bullet point on their resume. They like bragging about their brilliant auto-translate system and how awesome they are, but there was a resounding outcry (dunno if it was majority, but it was at the very least loud enough for me to know about it) for regional servers if for no other reason than latency issues.

The fact that the servers are truly international is one of the best things in this game. If you're that much of a racist that can't stand having contacts with people with a different culture and speaking a different language, you may want to just go to one of the many (too many) MMORPGs that segregate their community by region, preventing people to play with their friends if they happen to live across a pond.

Anyway, cry as much as you like, they won't for sure split the servers now just because of that.

If at all possible this would be great. I've recently started to learn the language but I'm quite a ways away from effectively communicating at the current moment. That list would be an excellent thing to have if you wouldn't mind posting it or posting a link to it.

What are you talking about guy, i said i feel discriminated coz i get kicked when i said i cant speak japanese, and i am racist and i cant have contact with other cultures? U read my post really? or u just imaginated what u wanted?

Actually it seems you're having some trouble with english as well, but I digress...

Please, don't hide behind a finger. Your post is chock full of racism. "uuuuh they don't want me in their group! I want my own server! I want them off my game! they're the enemy!"

You can "kick" (lol) me as much as you want. Know what? I'll just look for another group, instead of running to mommy forum to cry.

Let me give you another gentle reality check, though: chosing to group with people they can communicate with isn't "discrimination", it's a choice to which they (or anyone) have every right. I know that youngsters nowadays have a lot of false sense of entitlement, but being grouped (by anyone) isn't a right you're entitled to.

I like international servers and being able to play with people from all over the world:)

But seriously, English is an universal language many people from different countries speak, and that's a good thing, because it's pretty much the only way to get to talk to people who's native language is NOT english.

My native language isn't English either, so what? Do I walk around in Eorzea, only talking in my language, make it obvious I'm talking bad behind the backs of some people and laugh at them because they can't understand me?
Do I make fun of them, ignore them, stop ANYTHING related to them, even if it was just a trade or anything where the language barrier is not really a problem, just because I found out they speak a different language?
(I experienced all of this already, with people from all kinds of countries)
This is not about Japanese, it's about people from any country: I think in such an international world we live in today, it's rather rude not even trying to learn a language you can communicate in with others.

Edit: Oh, and I know there are many faults in what I wrote, I don't expect anyone to be perfect at English, but refusing to try it is really bad, just my opinion.

Try learning decently a different language that also has a different way of writing and completely different rules, tell me how easy it is. If you thik it's "rude" of them not to talk english, try to learn Japanese, or Chinese, or Arabic, or even just Russian. Then come back and tell me how easy it was.

This without even mentioning that a Japanese that wants to write in english will even have to change input method on his keyboard, which, when you have to do it repeatedly, tends to be a hassle.
Japanese players that talk to you in english, are extending a courtesy to you, you better stop taking it for granted.

As I already said, the things I described are stuff that already happened to me :(

I am. I learned English and German; French enough to understand it, although too many years have passed since I learned it so I don't think I'm still able to write/talk in it myself.

No, it's not easy. But at least I'm trying, although German, French and Japanese are not even languages that are spoken in many different parts of the world, like with English.

No. You didn't get it. I wasn't telling you to go learn their language. I was letting you understand that for them learning English, and speaking it correctly, is much more difficult than for us, because their native language is completely different from english, it has a completely different writing methods, and even their syllabic writing method is different from our phonetic one.

So no, it's not some form of sacred duty for them to learn and speak English. They speak Japanese because many of them don't speak english well enough to be confortable with it, and on top of that there are technical hurdles (have to repeatedly switch input method is a hassle).

I told you I'm learning Japanese, not because you told me to, but to show you, hey wait, it's possible to learn a language which is entirely different from your own!
Yes I know it's not easy, but it is possible. Learning English will maybe make things a lot easier for them if they ever leave their homeland, and a lot easier for other people who try to have fun on the same playground as them, too.
That's the other thing you don't understand:
I'm not saying "Oh my god! How dare they do not learn English, ignore them, bash on them, whatever!"
What I'm trying to say is that it's basic politeness to try being able to communicate with others, even if they do not speak your native language.
You can get by without being polite, but the other person will always feel kind of bad, and that's the reason why threads like this one are made.

Generalization:
It would be a generalization if I ever said that all people speaking in their native language are always like that. That's the definition of that word.
I never did. All I said is that things like that happened to me. I described what I experienced. Where do you see a generalization?

"Taking something for granted" means to think of certain circumstances as the norm, although they may not be the norm.
Well, I never said it is. All I did was expressing my wish to have people around the world who all speak at least two languages: their own and English, so they con communicate with people from other countries too. It's something like..a vision of mine. What's so bad about having a dream where everyone can just talk to anyone? :(
