How much do you think a personal house will/should cost?

What? All the houses are gonna be the same size and the same price? I've lost interest already.

You can't really use the prices of FC housing as a basis for personal housing, there is a crap ton more gil in the game now than there was then. I can't really put a prize on it yet til I know the size and feature of these houses; I can agree on anything from 10 mil to 50 mil depending on specs of the houses. The wealthiest people on the some of the more populated non-legacy servers already have like 300 mil gil and its not like there's any other use for gil in this game.

Of course, none of this really matter. Just keep whining with your entitlement mentality and I'm sure SE will find a way to bend over for you again.

It all depends on how they tackle the housing situation, if they launch it the way they did FC housing then you can expect limited plots with competitive pricing, if it is an instanced house like FFXI then you can count on a lower steady price. Then you have to think about different housing sizes and the extra cost there if they decide to impliment that as well. My bet is it is going to be instanced to avoid leaving people out which is why I think they are implimenting this in the first place, for those who are not in an FC or are in a newer FC who didn't get the chance to get an FC house. One thing I would like to see is one size, a smaller house, and in later content updates allow you to upgrade to medium, and then down the road upgrade it further until you have a mansion befitting a Warrior of Light. Allow an option to open a visitation window and a list of people on your friends list pops up and you can turn on visitation rights individually.

Well regarding gardening I expect the price of grown items to drop soon as the supply goes up from personal gardens. However, if you're looking to make money from this addition to the game I'd look towards selling furniture.

how would over 1 mil be feasible for a personal house possibly even smaller then FC houses? That and giving the fact FC housing is 1-3 mil dependant on server.
850K should be more then enough for the price, there is still empty plots even for FC housing.

People need to keep in mind that these are personal houses. You buy them and they are yours, you don't need to decide between FC members on what you are allowed to do. Especially, for the gardens which has been a concern as of late due to chocobo color dyeing.

Unless you own a FC just for yourself, you don't really have much need for a garden but with just 540 plots per server, its not likely most people will ever own a FC house just to themselves as 540 lots is the maximum number of lots per server at the current time and there are way more than 540 players on a server.

If I read the patch notes rihgt.. its going to cost the same as FC housing. Now that's to me at least pretty screwed, and ruins the idea of personal housing pretty badly

Not just cost the same. It /is/ the same. Its the same wards the FC's buy. Long story short, balmung just got two new wards and that is supposed to tide over not only FC's but personal housing seekers as well.

It's exactly the same, not just in cost. Every plot is buyable by anyone.

It's very disappointing and I find it spectacularly lazy design..I have come to expect more.
