You are giving the devs way to much credit. The Atma farming portion of this quest had negligible effort on the devs part. That's why it is the way it is at all. The lowest time in on their part for the longest time in on our part. It is a blatant smokescreen to keep people busy for as long as possible why the design the next step.

That's also why it's not changing right now. The team in charge was too busy making the steps for novus.

The only way we probably will actually see a change is if people stop trying to defend this garbage and recognize that SE took a really shitty shortcut.

it kept me busy for a week for my first atma weapon.
i'm only grinding out again for theif.
but the majority of the atmas i got were withing an hour of eachother when roughly following the theory. Unless they make a direct statement i cant really lean either way. I want to believe there is a trick because there are just long strings of atma gain that i've had, but at the same time i do hit dry spots.

If this silly theory were true, then everyone would have Animus by now and everyone would stop complaining. Since that hasn't happened....

So now does it mean everyone should farm ATMA on day1?
Regardless it was not the best weapon and there were other better weapons available ..etc ^^;

It still kind of dances around the question. How exactly would changing the mechanics destroy the hard work people put into the quests? People cried bloody murder that all the effort they put into clearing raids and the coil got nerfed with the Echo buff, yet nothing about them in general really changed.

• Everyone has more HP, can be hit by avoidable mechanics more often without it resulting in death/wipe.
• Tank's damage potency allows better hate control at a lower ratio of MP/TP costs to attain said enmity.
• Healer's potency allows better heals at lower MP costs.
• DPS potency allows adds to die faster and phases to become shorter, resulting in even less reliance on Healer MP or pure support buffs (ex: can requiem more, ballad less)

The only stuff echo doesn't help is party not killing adds before phase changes, and mechanics which eject the player from the arena.

The former is not a common issue. The latter can be largely avoided by properly "baiting" landslides.
