This didn't work for XI all it did was irritate an entire party/alliance because of someones stupidity, lag, glitch, or whatever.

Wait, i'm confused, are we talking about WoW or FFXIV?
I've yet to notice any gear damage as a result of death unless it was something recently implemented.
If I have failed to notice this, it seems to be a very insignificant amount.
Can someone clear this up for me?

The loss of xp in Dynamis was epic fun. . .till you had ot get back the 3 levels you lost lols
I actually agree with him. You die incessantly in this game for no reason. In XI you tried not to die, in this game who cares. Durability is just gil and gil we have lots of, but outside of a likeminded linkshell you had to find yourself, most people you group up with are clueless and this is because there's no incentive or penalty if you play like idiot.
The weakened status is pretty harsh to begin with. Not being able to do anything for 3 minutes sucks, especially in a game where many of the events have time limits. I don't think we should lose durability when we die, but then again xp would be near impossible since we distribute our own stat points in this game. It would make de-leveling a nightmare to code.
just stating my opinion, no need to hate. and it's used in other mmo's so why not this one?
