Did Duty Roulette low level EXP get Ninja nerfed?????????????

Well like I said earlier I've been doing them daily since 2.1 hit. I think I missed a week of doing them cause I didn't care, But I can say that I've had very few runs with anyone that was actually new. You get a Bonus when you clear a dungeon with new people, So I love it when new people are there. So to me yes the DR is for an insane amount of EXP. Its not like I'm going to leave over and over just to get a low level dungeon, that sure is a waste of time. I don't think SE is going to patch it because people leave. If they want to patch it they can increase the EXP Bonus in high level dungeons.

Cause I can't see them adding in some crap, Saying if you leave a Duty Roulette you don't get the Bonus.

I fail to understand the reasoning for leaving if you get a higher level dungeon. Assuming it works as Zfz says (which makes sense from what I have seen):

Lets pretend you are level 36, with 0 xp. You need 249,900 xp to get to level 37. Lets assume for the moment that the ~45% number is correct. This means that doing the roulette will net you 112455 xp.

If you get Copperbell, and mob kills grants you 20k xp then the bonus would be 92,455. If you get Brayflox and mob kills grants you 45k then the bonus would be 67,455. Yes the bonus is smaller but the net gain is the same. If you only got 20k in mob kills in Brayflox (by skipping mobs for example) then the bonus would jump back up to 92,455. The point is, you get the same xp no matter what dungeon you run.

This screams selfishness to me. You wouldn't do roulette or help out in low level dungeons at all because there isn't anything in it for you, correct?

Roulette is there to give players an incentive to run older content for people that have yet to clear it. There is literally no other logical reason to have it besides that.

Except when a new player needs a dungeon, you get paired, see the zone, "lulz not low enough dungeon, MAH XPZZZ, bai", and quit. This undermines the entire concept of the low level roulette system and makes it a redundant feature that hurts other players.

Now, you might not be one of these people and I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your statements, but I can tell you that there are people out there that are malicious and will take advantage of the system for their own personal gain.

I'm not saying it isn't correct. But from my experience I have never got such a low amount of EXP, Until I did a high level dungeon today. Aside from High level Dungeons, Regardless of what is killed my EXP Bonus has always been on the same track meaning, From level 30 my exp has increased from whatever the bonus @30 is to 217k @ level 49.

It could be correct I guess I'll have to test it out.

level 42- 43 is 356,800 exp, that's 160,560 Bonus (45%) I did Cutters Cry and got lil over 68k so that would mean we would have gotten 94k in total mob kills. We killed everything so I think its more than 94k in there I will see.




Ok so I just did a test I will give numbers if someone wants to double check. On another Account.

I did level 24 job with 19,037 out of 87,100. That would mean 45% of 87,100 is 39195 Bonus EXP correct? I got 46,249exp from mobs (we skipped a lot) took me to 65,286 out of 87,100. I got a DR Bonus of 47,041 + 5,716 from the last boss.

So those are my numbers.... if the Bonus is suppose to be 45% I got more than 45%, I got around 54%. So I don't think it matters about how much EXP you get from the Mobs as much as it matters about what your level is compared to the dungeon level.

Pretty sure each dungeon is weighted by the dungeon itself. Not a percentage of your level but a static amount based on your level and the dungeon in question.

I did tam-Tara at level 16 but only about 2k from 17. I hit 17 after the first pull. I hit 18 after the second demon. And I hit 19 upon completion. I don't remember the exact numbers in question, but I clearly got more than 45% throughout.

As for arkista's reasoning about abandoning higher level dungeons. Your logic is flawed. Because there are more resources to consider than just the lump sum at the end. The number of mobs in a given dungeon, the time spent in the queue, the amount of time you intend to spend in dungeons in a given day all factor in.

One thing I would particularly point out is cutters cry has a good deal more mobs than vigil does. You get a fair amount in the dungeon itself.

So going by the run I just did then it cannot be right. I'm not saying they are both wrong, I am going by the run I just did. So to me it seems like the EXP Bonus is based on Some Percent of your Current level and has nothing to do with the amount of EXP earned from mobs. But the amount of EXP earned is also based on the level difference between you and the dungeon. Meaning the bigger the level difference the more the Bonus, And the closer the level difference the lower the Bonus is. Based on w/e percent of your current level. We all know the higher you get the more you get.

So if Mob EXP in the Dungeon has ZERO to do with the Daily Bonus, Then it is more effective to run a lower level dungeon than to run a higher level dungeon "just for the Daily Roulette". Yes you get loads more EXP, But you can run any Dungeon at any time. And yes you would have to be crazy as hell to wait, leave, wait..... Just because I said I would leave doesn't mean I would try over and over just to get sastasha or any other low level dungeon. I would leave one, I can keep myself busy for 30mins doing dailies/map.

So yes you are correct it is flawed. But if it works it works. I'll check my numbers again tomorrow and see what I get.

There's always the possibility that the mechanism itself was changed and they never bothered to update the JP version of the description, making the EN version the right mechanism.

It would be nice to get a mod response on this.

No, actually, that's completely wrong.

If you get sastasha you may get 20k exp from killing all the mobs and 140k bonus exp
If you get Stone Vigil at the same level you'd get 200k exp from killing all the mobs and 80k bonus exp

Lets say sashtasha took 30 minutes and stone vigil took 45 minutes, stone vigil still would be the better one to get because it's
6222/minute and sashtasha would be 5333 exp per minute.

Getting a high level dungeon in the roulette is always better exp per minute, even if it takes longer.

I leveled about 14 different combat jobs to 50 across multiple charters so I know very well what works well and what doesn't.

Maybe your rested exp wore off? That would explain the 50% reduction in exp.

Hmmm. maybe? Cause I'm always close to running out, I just logged out so I'll have about 8 1/2hr worth in the morning so I'll see. Didn't know that rested effected the Bonus. Cause that sounds about right, if that is the case. I should have gotten around 135k so it makes sense.
