I've had it port forwarded since release, made no difference. =(
XI patcher was different in that it had better direct support and didnt download previous patches, and was every 3-5 months.

I had the dreaded 0.0 on dl speed for a little bit, about an hour in and at 44.5% (60~80 kb/s) and 40 minutes to go. It seems like shutting down my firewall for a moment helped, but yeah, this updater is in desperate need of improvement. I hope it's the next thing on SE's list of improvements.
I had no issues, started it about 5:50 and it was done and installed by like 6:05... actually I've never had an issue with the patcher, though I know a lot do.
1. L2Write (What is 'SEVER CONGESTION' anyway?)
2. Quit calling us 'guys'. It's like 'bro' or 'pal'.
3. I'm having a hard time believing you've played anything other than Facebook games at this point. I've never played an MMO where the patcher would come to a complete halt when both my firewall and port forwarding are correctly set up.
Just because SE warned that it may be slow doesn't make the reasons for it acceptable.
ok it was in the maint info

Where did they say the patcher may be slow due to congestion? Because it runs off torrent. Unless, I'm going to assume the initial file, and thats why we have these stupid upload/download ratios to release congestion? Seems odd to relate server congestion to an torrent...
Edit
Ah I see your post, it will be for the initial download which then we'll seed together. Things seem to pickup after the planned maint when people come back and begin downloading/uploading.
