I'd argue that it'd actually be easier to take a full DPS in lieu of the second BRD, because that means the encounter ends sooner. Literally the only justification I can think of to take 2 BRDs is insurance in case your first one dies.

Normally I agree with many of your posts on the forums, but I'd have to disagree with this particular point. Yes, Holy is an incredibly powerful spell for being in the hands of a healer, but I've yet to show up our BLMs' Flares with it. The stun cannot be used with much effectiveness other than granting (essentially) 5 seconds of mitigation (Stoneskin tank > Holy > Holy > back to healing) due to the long cast and animation times to take effect. As far as mana consumption... sure, it doesn't drain MP like Flare, but what does a BLM do when they're out of mana? Blizzard III/Transpose/Insert regen 50% MP in a tick effect here, until they're full, swap back and recommence burning faces. What does a WHM do? *Shrugs, pulls out staff, and begins to auto attack*
BLM Flre is 260 to start with
soooo this still tank thread right?
is dps thread is overcrowd that dps people come to invade tank thread?
As a lv.40 bard, I'm just glad they haven't touched the songs. Cos y'know, Swiftsong is important. I need to be able to run fast in towns.
I haven't got Rain of Death (brilliant name!), so maybe I'll be angrier in a few levels.
Unless you plan to tank on your BRD, I'm sure that I'm not being asinine by telling you this, tanks don't care about your bard problems.
Sure Bards damage nerfs are going to hurt a bit, but there's no getting around the fact that a class with as many utility abilities and 100% dps uptime as Bards is never going to go out of style. As long as songs' effects and reliable silences stay exclusive to them this fact will remain true.
