Nah, Better than Darklight for Sure, but not ilvl 90 Stuff. The boost to your primary Stat going from 70 to 90 is too much for secondary stat melds to cover for.

you don't seem to understand what he's saying at all.
He was talking about leveling crafting, To level up any crafting skill in FFXI you basically just had to flush millions upon millions of gil right down the toilet and even the super high end stuff like scorpion harness or the alumine set was a pretty decent loss in value from just the raw materials unless you HQ which you didn't really have too much control over.
and this was even before RMT was a thing that existed
and dunno what your doing but in FFXIV every craft I've leveled has turned a profit through all level ranges and pretty easily too. Even stuff that seems borderline useless like lavendar oil sells for some reason
but generally the options for gear is to make it relatively difficult to get like ragnarok online or ffxi and resellable or more bountiful than water and bind on use like pretty much every game after WoW
Not really sure what he spent 300k on but nothing but nothing but * and ** gear sells for more than 10k and that stuff is all endgame quality
If there were no bind items, crafters will starve to death XD. Poor of us. In FFXI there wasnt many crafters like here in which everyone and they mom have at least one craft. In FFXI probably the most common one was cooking because it was easy to level and FAR more useful than in FFXIV, you could really feel the difference between eat and not eating food. In FFXIV is mostly irrelevant.
maybe you should not spend 300k on gear and find yourself a friendly crafter instead.
I did something fairly easy: a friend of mine levels up miner, weaver, leatherworker. I level up botanist, alchemist, culinarian.
we send each other what we need, farm enemies together to get drops, and the likes. my brd and my whm have been running around in HQ gear pretty much the entire time - my friend in turn keeps getting HQ pots and food from me. we're not paying anything (and still making a profit by selling 'left-overs')
granted I guess you mean lvl 50 stuff with your 300k gear (or at least I HOPE that's what you mean), but my friend and I are fine in that regard, too. I can get the mats, after all, and if all else fails there's still the 'dungeon farmers' in our FC - whom we also provide with free mats/gear/pots/food.
Thats like going to a dealer buying a car and driving it for a day then going back the next day saying I want my money back. They going to look at you just like how I'm looking at my screen, "No? lol". NPC food it, or finish soul binding it and break it down into materia.
No they are not. I do not know where people keep getting these ideas from. i90 > i70 pentasextuple melded what ever you have. Those secondary stats just do not add up to the STR you get from them. They are good for getting the i90 do not get me wrong, but they are most definitely not better or near better.
You buy it, use it, then expect the same price back? Hmm.
Do you also want to chew up your in-game food for 29 minutes then regurgitate it onto the market board?
People buy crafted gear? What? lol
