And how is their gif more relevant? It's old, and was made by someone with connection issues. I'll be more than happy to update this with similar gifs from dungeons when the servers are back up :)

How does that even remotely make sense?

Little problems with game now compared to beta, however there's a big problem where servers are located for EU. Harder battles such as titan or coil don't give a lot of reaction time so I can see players with higher latency having problems.

There are three west coast players in my group too that are avoiding attacks fine.

While the issue does exist for some, in many cases it's a lack of understanding in the mechanic. Whether you do or do not get hit is not exclusively related to the "red circle." The cast bar of the ability is what matters - if you are inside the "red" zone when the cast finishes, you're getting hit whether you stand there or are 40 yalms from the spot. You can see in a number of the Titan videos (some of them have been posted in this thread) that the player is clearly standing in the zone when the cast finishes. Understanding this greatly improved my gameplay.

That said, it would be much more intuitive if the cast were to be in sync with the red zone. Whether this is a good, bad, lazy, awesome design is really just subjective.

I'm not denying the existence of the lag, it is out there, but the majority of videos and complaints I see are simply people not watching the cast and claiming lag.

I'm not pretending I have any technical knowledge. I never needed any sort of latency reducer for the other games I played. Before FFXIV I used to play RIFT, was main tank with a solid raid schedule. Never had any problem but the eventual connection issues everybody's subject to. Then I come to FFXIV and have this issue. I call my internet provider, spend half an hour making tests with the tech support, testing other games, downloads and everything and they say my connection seems to be alright.

If i were bashing on the game for silly reasons like "nothing to do" or "i want more end game content" I'd understand people saying the problem's all on my side. But I honestly can't seem to being able to blame anybody but SE. Now, I like this game enough to have subbed for months and even subscribe to third party app in order to improve MY QoL, but it doesn't mean I won't keep asking for some fix from SE's side. I'm sorry if it offend you, as it seems to not be an issue you're facing in-game, but for me and many others Eu player (can't talk about NA, as the only NA we have in the FC are exactly the ones who NEVER have any problem with lag/delay) it's very bothersome.

If he's having to use a 3rd party program to reduce latency then it falls on SE and the routes that are being taken to get to the server. Its within SEs power to find the most efficient routes to be taken to reach their servers.

That's the entire point of this thread. That gif, like mine, is in the overworld. That person has a connection issue.

I really have to wonder how you guys can look at gifs like this, and be like RAWR SEE TOLD YOU, and yet see the gifs at the start of this thread, and for some reason think it's voodoo magic or something.
