not sure what to say but i do over 110k damage on my Wandering Palace SR's, while healing as whm. no mp issues here.
Most of what I wanted to say has been addressed above, but further to this, if WHM had good mana regen, then they'd also be one of the more powerful sustained DPS in the game. Many people think "WHM? Oh, they suck for damage, and can only heal", but if you throw up Cleric Stance and really cut loose with Thunder, and Aero I & II, spam Stone II, and throw in Holy for AoE'ing multiple targets (or even for single target), and a WHM can utterly destroy with >700 crits with Stone II, and >1000 crits with Holy, and ~250damage per tick with the DoT's.
I can only imagine that if WHM had some form of mana regen, then it wouldn't be too hard for a party of 1 tank and the rest WHM's to be a dominating party setup short of needing a Silence skill for certain mobs.
Your MP burn is dependent on how you play and who you play with as a WHM. There are a lot of things you can do that will help mitigate your MP burn.
Like only using Cure I until you get the proc for a free Cure II. This combo can get your though 70-80% of the time. Also, when you don't have down time don't spam offensive spells, let your mana regen. If you're in a fight that you know and will be out of mana, hit the Shroud of Saints and or a mana potion at the beginning giving you the option of hiting them again later.
The only time I had mana problems was with bad speed run groups. DPS and Tanks wouldn't get adds, the other healer would pull massive hate and I would have to raise them. Other than that, get some better gear and increase your mana pool. Hope that helps.
