Bard Nerfs Offically Confirmed

Oh, the nerf stick, went through it as a Warlock many times for being too OP. ARC/BRD is the only class that fits my playing style. Long range and minimum casting time. Eh, so what are they going to do? Either they lower damage or reduce mobility. So if the nerf is substantial, I'll just be a lowbie until a new class arrives and play just to level up crafting and gathering all day, lol. I guess other melees should be happy. One less Bard..I guess that was the point of the nerf, right?

That "thing" has been around forever. It's not new. People made thread after thread calling out for a Bard nerf. SE took those into consideration, and perhaps their own numbers, and it happened. If the nerf is too severe or, in retrospect, unnecessary, bards will make thread after thread calling for a buff--and they will get it.

I want to believe SE has better numbers and simulators than us, that informed this decision. The nerf shouldn't be too significant since they're already low damage. Maybe they'll just be more affected by the environmental effects. Their utility will still keep them valuable if that's the case.

Either sarcasm or many you have run with bad groups. Brds are never on top in the groups I run with

I welcome the change, there's already way too many bards running around. I'm willing to take a damage nerf (even though i'm already mid to low on the dps charts in coil) if they would just make my songs useful, or give me more of em. like when was the last time anyone used peon?

Because now its going to be a cycle bards get nerfed. Everyone goes to blm. Everyone cries nerf. Then everyone goes to smn. Everyone cries nerf etc etc. Which eveyone gets nerfed then buffed. Instead of going through the headache. Just leave well enough alone

I think most of people doing coils agree that bard its the lowest DPS.

So the main problem its that bard it was less gear dependant, so at early levels bard seems just OP.

I wish they could have fixed the early problems instead doing something which could affect the end game also.

I think their numbers are a bit screwy. Last time they did that census thing everything was a bit thrown off because they counted everyone's low level jobs as part of the numbers. 80% of people getting CNJ to lvl 15 doesn't mean that 80% of all healers are WHM's.

I need details on this nerf. How much are we talking about? Is it just a mobility nerf with some skills having a charge time, a DPS nerf that is reasonable (like I dunno, 10% with the further damage drop removed from songs), an unreasonable DPS nerf, what? I can't make a decision without more details. If it's really bad, I'm prepared to cry out. Until more details come out, I'll wait to see what approaches us.

I'm actually surprised with this nerf, I find bard damage to be lackluster...
