I'm Legacy and I disagree.
Quite the opposite I'm happy to admit that I probably suck more than most new players that have hit 50 before me now.

I hope the future rating system based on helpfulness will somehow remedy this but I'd like people to think about the long run too.
Some of us plan to stay on these servers for years. Therefore being nice to other players is probably good for you and everyone else on the long run.

I know players in XIV might seem expendable due to the duty finder but these people are the same faces you'll bump into for many times in the future too so we might as well make the most of it =)
It's nobody's fault they're not "pro" in a game they're playing for fun. At the same time don't be so defensive in getting instructions from those more experienced than you. (if it's bad advise then just ignore it if you know better).

When I did The Praetorium I had the same experience. I had the tank threatening to leave because of it and the rest of the party was yelling at me too. I like to live in the moment and experience the action complimented with the cutscenes. I wasn't going to listen to them tell me to watch it in my inn room. I got what I wanted, but the negativity the party gave me ruined my enjoyment.

I'll agree with most of this, but people should at least have the decency to NOT queue for select instances when they flat out know they're under geared. The gear score requirement that's coming will help remedy this slightly, but people also need to have not only common sense, but common courtesy as well. Hopping in queue for Titan HM (for example) while wearing a mix of AF and pinks from Aurum Vale is totally unacceptable, be it a shout group or a DF group.

These sorts of toxic players are the "content locusts" that end up in pretty much every mmo in existence. One can only hope that they get bored and leave. They are a rather vocal minority and will not be missed. At all.

This is one thing I have no problems with people raging about.
Fortunately, as you say yourself as well, there is a sollution coming for that. I just hope Yoshi-kun and his crew implement this correctly.

I wouldn't consider that Toxic. The developers have created a system where you're going to be running the same content 100s of times. After you've done the same thing that many times, you search for ways to make it faster and you get frustrated when people slow you down. Not everyone has the ability to queue with other people. While it's unfair on you, it's the developers who created the situation to begin with.

I'm mind of in the middle of this. I hate anyone who lacks tact and courtesy, but at the same time, you HAVE to do these runs multiple times to even pass the gear check for Titan, and later, Binding Coil.

I try to be patient if someone wants to watch castrum cutscenes. I can understand the frustration of having to wait through cutscenes, and no, it's not two minutes, you're talking 20 minutes or more total for all cutscenes, if not longer.

I absolutely despise people who are nothing but impatient, though. I was happy when they eliminated AK speed runs, and the tears from all the QQ were delicious, after all the runs from pricks that were all up in your shit the moment something went wrong.

I think the problem is the anti-social progression RAID mentality. I got to turn 4 of BC with one (main job WHM). Got praised until I messed up once. Later, I get told I had been replaced in the first team rotation by the person who invited me to the FC, and that no one planned to even tell me. I take it up with the group leader, only to have it thrown back on me, being accused of causing drama. He boots me from the FC, and the leader of the FC backs him up.

I'm all for progression, but anyone who puts this before anything else and is willing to sacrifice tact, manners, and camaraderie is not a group I want to be part of. I'm too old for this childish "the best or GTFO" attitude. I think that FC may be the first to actually hit turn 5 on Ultros, but I'm not willing to make that kind of sacrifice.

Also, if you get a good party that knows what they're doing, Praetorium can go faster than Castrum.

The devs may have created the content that way, but they don't dictate how people need to act. If I want to do speed runs I form my own party. If I queue up for CM with a few friends I hope for like minded people wanting to do speed runs, but I expect to get at least one person who's doing it for the story quest.

Let's be honest, though. It's not like one person wanting to watch the CS is going to hinder a geared (even semi-geared) group from plowing through the bosses and mobs that you actually have to kill if they're hell bent on doing a speed run. There's no excuse for the treatment that some of these players are having to endure.

Want to chew somebody out for repeatedly making mistakes even after they've been told what to do and what to watch out for? Be my guest. But to chew a new level 50 out for actually wanting to watch the story or making a mistake on a fight because you're too arrogant and pig headed to take 5 seconds to explain something, that's unacceptable.

It's your right to watch the cutscenes as they're happening, if you care for the story.
Watch them, ignore the asshats and report abuse.
