It's probably better actually than just trying to treat healers as one unit. You'd actually have statistics about what players prefer instead of trying to assume what they want by just... allowing them to choose.

Hot take though, I think it should be Sage. Not only does Sage lack an established background, being born in the ShB healer design, but Kardia/Pneuma could easily serve as the foundation for a kit focused on incidental healing ideal for those struggling to balance healing and damage and get them thinking about healer damage as important and meaningful. The unlock level of 70 would encourage trying out "harder" healers first instead of just having all newer players crammed into the square hole while 60-70 is about when kits normally start getting complicated anyway.

My hot take would be to have AST be the nuke spammer, it's always had a barebones damage kit and was 1 nuke + DoT back in SB, but it made up for it with the cards. That said I still would rather they get something for its damage kit.

Yep. Many players don't want the status quo changed because it would mean their jobs would be reined in. So, they do put out these nonsensical "gotcha" posts which have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Out of curiosity, why do you find healers fun to play? Why is it your favorite role? Your voice deserves to be heard in this discussion too.:)

So i have an idea, to make this more effective every healer main go to limsa around the aethercurrent and uldah thing etc and use self destruction, spread the power of the puddle if we can cover all the main citys with piles of corpses they will have to listen.

I mean its still peacefull that way, and its funny and it would be more effect than words will ever do lol plus entire towns filled with corpses would get them to actrually listen to it instend of be like well it is what it is lol

There's a lot of satisfaction in being the party member that helps bolster everyone else and let them do the parts they find fun. I like being in a position where quick thinking can save a wipe. I enjoy supporting the tank and making sure they're comfortable doing big pulls, since everyone likes big pulls. I can be reactive when I need to, proactive from the start, and pitch in with DPS when needed since dead mobs stop dealing damage. Dead players also stop dealing damage, but that's what I'm here for.

Edit: Also, I enjoy the role without necessarily worrying about whether a particular class mechanic. As long as I keep bars full, I'm happy

I just still find it odd that all of this came from a video by an experienced static team running story dungeon content. Hey, I get it. Some people aren't happy. I think this "strike" isn't the most efficient way to go about getting change. You're better off trying to work with the JP players to make your voices heard. I think that even with the "peaceful" intent, you'll end up with players being frustrated because now they have to wait for longer queues in roulettes. Not that it matters, because anyone can roll into a Trust now for story content, but some people actually like playing with others, but the strikers will make that more difficult.

I could just do trusts, even as a healer. But I like meeting new people and helping them. I like getting New Players in the party and making sure they can have a fun time in a roulette. I imagine it's hard for some players to get the courage to join a roulette. That's all, really.
