I believe you are referring to third party mods which is what YoshiP specifically talked about and said they should stop, there's an entire section in the TOS that specifically talks about 3rd party modifications and the usage of SE intellectual property to profit from such modifications is a straight bannable offence.

So yes, it was a single GM putting their own interpretation which they are not allowed to do.

Senior GMs have warned against using the word Brothel or ERP on PF but stopped short of telling people not to use PF for venues/event advertising and there's plentiful evidence of that from Octobers sting operation as some of those venues were also doing illicit RMT.

So if someone is using those words, that's a fair judgement by the GM but this is absolutely not the case from the screenshot evidence.

This kind of stuff can land legal in hot water, that's why they don't do that.

You also can't misrepresent things, like you can't advertise something under duty roulette title when it's not. That's a reportable action if you are misleading people. Nevermind the brothel term.

You should look at how they interpret the ToS when they banned Arthars for being toxic to someone on twitch, but not in-game. Or the person who leaked pictures of what was in the TEA patch on twitter before the servers went up. These GMs didn't just login for their first day on the job yesterday, they also aren't dumb to not know what brothel means. In fact they may visit your advertised brothel since they can be invisible anywhere in Eorzea.

Meaning I didn't OWN them, therefore they were not MINE. I was always part of the SFW staff, but eventually didn't want to be part of what I thought was detrimental to the RP community.
The venue I DID own was a tavern. We sold some food and drink items, had a house bard, and a house Triad dealer. It was simply a place for people to RP, enjoy the performance, and play cards (no gambling involved). RP was not a commodity we sold.

Regardless.... The point of this post is about the Party Finder.

Venues need to be more mindful about how they advertise their clubs. Don't advertise that you sell ERP. Don't post a ton of adverts that clog up the "Other" tab. Honestly, I think those are the reasons why people are reporting the RP venue party finder ads.

As for the ERP venues themselves, workers need to be more mindful of how they vet their clients (and in my personal opinion should conduct their ERP service out of the game to avoid their accounts getting banned, since conversations are logged on SE's servers).

Using PF for non-content purposes has been approved by GMs explicitly in the past, as has ERP. PF entries for ERP for gil, even.

The GM in OP's post appears to be going against precedent. There's certainly nothing in the TOS that supports their interpretation. Squenix is free to change their minds on that, but they need to update the TOS to reflect that.

Do you happen to know when the screenshot is from? It's not the first time that tiny snippet has shown up in this thread, but there is not actual context to say when GM Dorxenore made that statement.

I don't, but unless it's from the first few months that PF existed I don't think it matters much. To my knowledge there haven't been any TOS changes since relating to the Party Finder, nor any communication from Squenix saying "only use Party Finder to run content." All we have before this are statements from them explicitly allowing Party Finder to be used for other purposes, whether it's ERP or selling runs for gil.

No, I was just asking because of them condoning ERP in game. That is actually contradictory to anything I can recall reading or hearing in LLs etc.
